Pre-Doctorate Ideas

Postby Shmit » Mon Aug 21, 2017 2:24 pm

Hi all :)

I start the Clinical Doctorate at the end of September, but before this I have some time off. I have about 3 weeks in total, and would love to get ideas from people about things I can do during this time. Unfortunately I cannot really travel abroad due to other commitments, but would love to hear ideas from people for a bit of inspiration!

Many thanks :)

I started a 'couch to 5k' programme in the weeks before training and it was one of the best things I've done. I continued to run throughout my training and it really helped with my stress.

Before training I also may caught up with friends, family did jobs around the house etc. Doing photo albums/books is also a good job to do if you have time

Take the opportunity to do as much "non-psychology" stuff as possible. Novels, music, dvds etc., etc. The next 3 years are going to be very "psychology heavy" so make the most of not having to think like a psychologist for the next few weeks. Hope the training goes well.

I went fishing, lots. Agree with above, do something non-psychology!

I did the travelling thing and was very happy that I did, but I also took the time to do as much walking and enjoying the area I was in which was especially nice for me because I relocated for training, so it was good to get my fill of the countryside before moving to the Midlands.
