Hi all!
I'm Pedro, from Chile (far far away!), and I'm planning to apply to a DCP course next year! Love dancing, music..knitting as well . Seeking an international experience, my partner and I are willing to try London next year, or maybe 2018 (depends on how good/bad I do with my applications )
So that's about it! I like light blue colors, and purple. I'm fond of animals too (my dad has worked on that many years now, and we've welcomed some CRAZY exotic animals in my house :-o)

Hope you're doing well ^_^

Hugs!

Hi all,

I'm a new member here, although before signing up benefited from the wealth of info here. I'm just applying as a trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practioner. My Psychology degree is almost ten years ago now, since then I have been working with adults with high-functioning autism, so I am hopeful I can have a strong application and bring some much needed specialist knowledge into this field. I have trawled through many posts about other individuals experiences with the process which just increases my motivation for this next step for me.

See you around the forum.

Hi all,

I've been um-ming and ah-ing about ClinPsych for a while but I think this is the year where I'm taking it seriously and doing everything I can to put in a strong application this December.

I'm 26 and I have 6 months experience as a HCA, 1 years experience as a support worker for homeless people with substance misuse, and I have a BSc in Psych accredited from Uni of Nottingham and an MA in Psychosocial Studies from London.

I've recently been considering going abroad to do clinical psych- I would really appreciate any feedback from people wanting to do the same or have done this.

Everyone seems to be posting a favourite colour- so....I guess mine is varying shades of blue.

Best,
S

Hi everyone!!

I have been lurking on this website for a while, and gained a wealth of knowledge.

I'm 27, have a BSc in Psychology, and am planning on doing a Masters this year. I've been a HCA in an acute adult psychiatric ward for a year. I want to be clinical psychologist.

I love purple, and reading. I also have an unhealthy obsession with stationary, particularly pens. One of the reasons I decided to do postgraduate study is so I still have an excuse to buy stationary.

Hello!
My name is Marie, I am an Irish student currently finishing my HDip Conversion in Psychology. I will be applying to the Applied Psychology (Healthcare) For Children & Young People MSc in Edinburgh this year and from looking at posts on this site from previous years it looks like competition is fierce.
Just regarding the NHS health boards, could anybody point me in the direction as to which health board takes on the most candidates or are each health board allocated candidates based on population etc. I have no preference to any particular health board and am wondering where to apply to.
Apologies if this is a random q I'm just trying to come to terms with the Scottish health system in time for when the application becomes live. Thanks in advance :D

Hi!

I initially skipped right past this part! My name is Laura, I'm 27 and starting on the DClinPsy at Salomons this year. I'm currently an Assistant Psychologist at a forensic inpatient mental health unit, and loving it.

I think of myself as quiet, but I'm really not, I enjoy reading, walking, going to the beach, spending time in my garden and even doing some gardening, going away and spending time with people I love including my two cats who are such characters! I do NOT love household chores. Especially dusting and ironing.

My favourite colour is.... can't pick one!! Orange, yellow and green! Sunrise colours are amazing! And I've noticed that I love exclamation marks too!

So... Hello! :)

Hi everyone!

I've been reading this forum for about a year now, but I've never posted. I'm a 23-year-old American with a BS in Psychology. I studied in London during my undergrad in 2014, and I've been trying to figure out a way to move back to the UK permanently since then. I'm applying for EU dual citizenship, and my plan was to apply to DClinPsy programs and AP positions as a European because it's extremely difficult (though of course not impossible) to get hired or get accepted to a course as an American.

Now that the EU referendum vote has happened I'm not really sure what my plan should be, but I would still like to move to the UK for my clinical doctorate if possible.

I'm currently working as a Research Assistant on some PTSD treatment studies and other clinically-applicable, trauma-related research with veterans. I want to be a clinical psychologist.

I love reading and traveling, my favorite colors are brown and green, and I hate writing self-summaries online :)

Right now, I need a sort of fairy godperson who can give me solid advice about if and when I should move to the UK given the EU ref, but I know that things are too uncertain right now for anyone to have a definitive answer, so I'll probably just keep lurking for a while.

Hi my name is Priyanka and I've just graduated with a 2:1 in psychology. I have a year of voluntary experience helping people suffering from substance misuse. I've really enjoyed the work! My aim is to help people that have emotional problems through therapies and intervention. But right now, I'm finding it so difficult to start of even in an entry level position! I have applied for the trainee pwp roles but they have been unsuccessful! :( I have considered postgraduate study too but I think its too late in the year to apply for the 2016 intake :? I would be grateful if anyone has any tips on how I could progress! Apart from my passion in psychology I love art and literature! I love learning and exploring new things! I also love volunteering as i meet different types of people; I feel like this broadens my perspective on life  Regularly visiting this website for the past 3 years have enabled me to learn so much about jobs within psychology! I'm so grateful for everyone that has contributed and I hope I can now do the same one day when I've reached my desired profession.

Hi all,

My name is Zahraa and i'm 23 years old. I'm currently studying for a master's degree in Psychology, so joined this forum as I thought it'd be a good place for advice.

My favourite colour is Red, as it's the colour of the best football team in England (Liverpool, of course :P )

As well as being an avid Liverpool fan, I also enjoy playing football such as 5-a side.

I enjoy reading, and my favourite books are The Book Thief, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Alchemist and Harry Potter.

Most of my spare time is spent gaming on the PS4, playing games like Uncharted 4 because shooters are great stress relievers

I also watch a lot of TV shows.

I think I've covered everything...
