Volunteer or Intern for research project in Matlock

Postby miriam » Wed Aug 16, 2017 4:20 pm

We have a vacancy at Lifepsychol Ltd for a volunteer or intern to help us with some research we are undertaking in relation to staff variables in the quality of care in children's homes. The role will involve scoring up questionnaires and data entry. It would suit a psychology graduate or student.

We would expect you to work for at least 7 hours per week for at least six weeks, starting as soon as possible. We could potentially provide anything up to a full-time placement. The hours can be arranged to suit you (within our working week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm).

We may be able to pay an honorarium of £5 per day towards travel costs if you are a student, but this is an unpaid role. Your placement with us would be on a part-time and/or short-term basis and relate to a specific project that is not income generating, as we don't believe in using unpaid labour to replace substantive roles. We are bidding for a number of projects that could increase our workload, so it may be that it leads to other opportunities to work with us in the future.

Hopefully it would be useful experience for someone looking to make a career in clinical psychology or applied research. If you make a substantial contribution to the project there may be the possibility of being named on a publication. We will also offer opportunities to learn about the wider research and our business, and to participate in CPD activities during the period you are with us.

Our pleasant offices are located on the edge of Matlock in Derbyshire. There is free parking on site.

To apply please send a brief CV and covering letter to Jessica@lifepsychol.co.uk - the same email address can also be used if you have any specific questions about the role.
