BIRT, Chalkdown House, Swindon
Salary £17,706 - Full time (35 hours per week)
Twelve month fixed term contract

We are recruiting an assistant psychologist at Chalkdown House, Swindon which is a brand new, purpose built centre for the residential rehabilitation for adults with an acquired brain injury. The programme operates a neurobehavioural model with an emphasis on social rehabilitation. The post involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of clinical psychologists.

Successful applicants will support Professor Nick Alderman who will be joining BIRT in March 2013 as Regional Consultant in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation for the above service.

Key roles include analysis of behavioural recordings and data, compiling the clinical programming, and participating in clinical activities such as structured behavioural assessments, running groups and specific psychological interventions (under the supervision of a clinical psychologist).

Experience of working with people with acquired brain injury and/or challenging behaviour would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal and team working skills, be familiar with Excel spread sheets, be able to manage his/her own time and to be self-motivated and flexible. A full driving license would be advantageous.
