Bereavement charity run by Clinical Psychologists
Looking for Volunteer Support Event Facilitators (London)

The Loss Foundation is a registered charity specialising in providing bereavement support for people whose loved ones die of cancer, and the UK's only cancer bereavement charity. The charity is run by volunteer clinical psychologists (qualified and in training), doctors and other professionals.

Our wonderful charity team is expanding and we are looking to take on more compassionate, reliable and conscientious volunteers with excellent communications skills and an interest in helping others.

Volunteer roles involve co-facilitating bereavement support groups and social events for people whose loved ones have died from cancer; having supervision with co-facilitators (clinical psychologists), and contributing to the development and growth of the charity’s support. Training is provided in line with the Department of Health’s Standard of Care for Bereavement Support.

The successful candidates will have excellent organisational skills, flexibility, and enthusiasm for learning more about bereavement support. Volunteers will receive scheduled supervision. The charity offers excellent training and opportunities for people who are keen to pursue careers in psychology.

We are passionate about offering the best possible care to an often-ignored population. We ask for at least a 1-year commitment, which involves facilitating at least once a month. You can find out more about the charity at http://www.thelossfoundation.org

Please email Clair Pike, Charity Administrator, at clair@thelossfoundation.org with a letter of interest and copy of your CV by midday on the 10th February. Successful candidates will be invited to an informal interview with some of the charity’s clinical psychologists.
