Surrey 2017!

Postby sparkling » Thu May 11, 2017 10:15 am

Thought I would start one.....

I’m based about 25 mins from Surrey at the moment (Walton) and will be staying there. I’m 35 (gulp), mum of a 1 year old and 2 year old and am therefore permanently knackered but it still hasn’t sunk in I’ve got a place?!

How about anyone else so I don’t feel like a loser lol xx

Hi Sparkling,

I'm currently living about an hr and a half away from Surrey! I've only just moved to where I'm living so may be having to commute for at least a little bit. I am 29 with no kids. Still can't quite believe I've got a place!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hello,

I am still in disbelief at securing a place and convinced that I will wake up ay any moment now!

I am 26 and I live about an hour from Surrey at the moment; planning to move to the Guildford area though.

Hey both!

It doesn't quite feel real yet hey. Wow.
I interviewed on Monday first batch - same as either of you?

Someone mentioned an induction day - do you know anything about that?

xx

I interviewed on the Tuesday, first batch. I had heard they had an induction day end of June last year but haven't heard anything about this year yet!

I interviewed on the Tuesday in the later group. I think I heard the existing trainees mention an induction day but I am sure more information will come in due course.

Hi everyone! Hope you've all been enjoying the celebration period!

I'm 26 and living in London, where I intend to stay. I also interviewed on Tuesday in the later group (maybe we met earlydaze?)

I'm very excited and really looking forward to meeting you all! Hopefully there will be an opportunity to before September! X

LauraRose we probably did :) I remember there being two Lauras and it causing confusion when we were being called to interview!

I was one of the Irish ladies, have slightly dark red/dark pink hair if that helps to identify me :D

Hello everyone :)

Very excited to say I will be joining you at Surrey in September. It still hasn't quite sunk in for me either! I'm 23 and currently live in Reigate, but not sure whether I'll stick around here or move to Guildford!

Looking forward to meeting you all :)

Ah yes I remember you! :) I can't think of an equally helpful description of myself but if you can remember the two Lauras, I was the one with her back to the sandwich table, nervously chatting a lot and getting up for the wrong interviews! x

Me again sorry. I thought I had read Surrey trainees got the Fringe London Weighting on top of the usual salary but now I can't find that anywhere - is that not the case anymore?
Edit - looking at the NHS Map Surrey and Borders NHS Trust is no longer considered as part of the "fringe"?! Sigh. Even though other areas are the same if not further from London. Sob.

Hi,

I will be starting Surrey in September too, so excited! I'm 25 and I interviewed on the Monday, second batch. I currently live in Ascot but moving somewhere in Surrey, possibly Epsom! Can't wait to meet everyone :D

Oh I didn't realise that wasn't part of the fringe, bummer!

Details of Fringe HCA areas are found here:

Current adverts for SABP posts include fringe weighting
