The next Live Event is very exciting, as we will be unveiling our new LiveChat room! We will launch this with a live Q&A with me and Russ on Wednesday 18th June at 7pm.
If there is anything you want to ask us anything or if you just want to see the new facility, please come along! You can also let us know what you think of the LiveChat room, and what you'd like us to do with it.
We are more than willing to talk about the forum, or about why we set it up, what we do in our jobs, the models we draw on, how we feel about the profession and recent issues, our experiences of short-listing and interviewing, our links to various courses we contribute to, or any other topic you can think of. We don't guarantee to have all the answers, but we don't mind what you put to us, and will give our genuine and uncensored opinions!
Here are some short biogs to prompt you to think about what you might want to ask us:
As you probably know, I'm a Clinical Psychologist working in a CAMH service, specialising in Looked After and adopted children and those with neuro-developmental disorders such as autism. I also work privately as an Expert Witness in Care Proceedings. I've just been appointed to a Consultant grade role, where I hope to set up Attachment-minded services to help children who have had the most difficult starts in life to access the benefits of new permanent family placements. I supervise Trainees for placements and research, and I also contribute to selecting and appointing Assistant Psychologists. I trained at Hull and have taught on Hull, Leeds and Oxford courses. I also teach a couple of topics on an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health as well as speaking both locally and nationally about Looked After and Adopted Children, Theory of Mind and Developmental Disorders.
Russ is a Clinical Psychologist working in HIV and Sexual Health. He works with a more psychodynamic model than me and is doing a course on psychoanalysis. Russ is a tutor for the OU and contributes to their psychology modules. He supervises Trainee and Assistant Psychologists. He also has a small private practise in London.
(I'm sure he can add more info)
Hope to see you live in Wednesday evening! _________________ Miriam

By popular request, tomorrow evening (22nd October) at 7pm I will be running a live workshop on responding to clinical and research vignettes, in the Livechat space. All forum members welcome - the more the merrier! _________________ Miriam

If enough people are interested, there can be another LiveChat about responding to vignettes tomorrow evening at 6.30pm. I'll try to loiter earlier to guage interest and have a general chat if I can, but as its fireworks night it is hard to judge whether there will be people around who wish to participate (and I'm going out myself at 7.30pm).
I hope that we will also have the archive thread up from the last chat by tomorrow too. _________________ Miriam

By popular demand, I am happy to do another LiveChat about responding to clinical and research vignettes during the next couple of weeks. It seems like weekday evenings are the most accessible time for people, so how about we go for Thursday at 8pm?
However, I don't mind preparing a few cases and research questions in case people want to catch me in LiveChat at other times, provided there is a reasonable group who can reach a concensus about what they would like to cover! _________________ Miriam

Sure thing. It will be good to test out the technical updates on the LiveChat system. Shall we go for Thursday at 8pm? I've made an archive of the last one for people to look at _________________ Miriam
