Book recommendation for formulation
Hello all
I am looking for a good book or two on formulation in clinical psychology - something really practical and easy to access that can be used alongside work with clients.
Does anyone have any recommendations please?
Many thanks!

Re: What happens post offer?
Hey For our course the NHS trust employing us did further checks to cover the past 3 years so we had to provide dates / employer details / referee names for every position held within that period. They do quite extensive checks in terms of right to work in UK, DBS etc...but nothing you wouldn't expe...

Just to say I'll be declining a place at Essex so the reserve list will be moving!

Messaging function not working
Hello
Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I have tried to send a few messages using the private message function but they just seem to sit in my outbox and don't actuslly send. My inbox/sent box is nowhere near full. Please can you advise?
Many Thanks!

Re: The Great Big PhD Tea-Sympathy-and-Celebration Thread
Hello all I am new to this thread but think it's a great idea! It's quite a lonely process so any support is always a positive. I'm exactly half way through my PhD, got my upgrade from MPhil to PhD quite soon - and in the middle of recruitment - so all a bit hectic. I had supervision today and am re...

Re: Has anyone completed a PhD before applying for the DClin
Thank you DrP, that is really useful. I have decided to take a year out now regardless - I am moving house and all sorts, so don't want the added pressure of launching into a PhD straight away. However, I am pretty confident that it is the route I want to take. And as you say, it leaves your options...

Re: Has anyone completed a PhD before applying for the DClin
Yeh I would never do a PhD solely as a way of getting onto the DClinPsy. I am expecting a good first class degree this summer so it wouldn't be to prove myself academically, it is because I have a love of research and would rather devote myself to that than go between support worker type roles witho...

Has anyone completed a PhD before applying for the DClinPsy?
I am keeping all my options open! Any opinions/experience of doing a PhD before clinical training?

Re: Is a MSc worth it !?
Thanks for your opinion, I am inclined to agree. I think I might apply anyway (deadline for scholarship is May 1st which I would need if I did do it) and have it as a back up plan if I literally can't find any relevant work. I've been in a nice bubble of uni for 4 years - it's all quite overwhelming...

Is a MSc worth it !?
Hello! I am graduating this year, on track for a first. I originally just planned to apply for AP / support worker type roles, but after reading a lot of forums and speaking to other students, am actually considering a MSc (foundations to Clinical Psychology). I would rather do a masters than end up...
