Re: Best/worst IAPT service in London?
Surrey is AQP and pretty ghastly to work in any of the services from what I hear, I don't know of a decent one. I've heard particularly bad things about what used to be KCA.

Re: Wellbeing in IAPT
The main people I have come across who say they enjoy working in IAPT are managers, I've met precious few front line clinical staff who feel the same. I've worked in two services, both nhs, one was hideous from day one the second initially supportive but went rapidly downhill after a new clinical le...

Re: Changes in Iapt and branching out.
Hi autumnleaf, you're not alone. I have days of absolutely dreading going into work and I'd say about half the HI colleagues I talk to in my service would leave tomorrow if they could afford to. I work 4 days which helps, but the stress is still there. And the irony of talking to clients about stres...

Re: Has anyone been performance managed out of IAPT due to not meeting targets?
Thanks Miriam - I appreciate your reply, but I disagree. My original post relates more to recovery rates, which from my experience are rife with issues generally, including in terms of how they are used to batter down the morale of staff. I'd say demanding a 50% recovery rate in a service where ther...

Has anyone been performance managed out of IAPT due to not meeting targets?
Particularly the recovery rates? It hasn't come to that for me (yet) but I'm just wondering if this has actually happened to anyone? I wonder if it could be argued that this amounts to bullying and harassment if individuals are not provided with the 'means' to meet the recovery rate (adequate number...

Re: WATS refund
Thanks Mungle, HMRC seem to be making it up as they go along
. I was turned down on the basis that I earned more than 15k, but I know of people who earned more than that who were given a refund.

Re: WATS refund
Hi - just resurrecting this thread after a letter from HMRC rejecting my claim for a NIC and tax rebate. I'm a high intensity, trained in 2008 - 2009. I wondered if any HIs have successfully applied and received a rebate? I would love to hear how you did it!

Re: Escaping IAPT
I'm bumping this thread up again to see if there is anyone out there who has left IAPT and found something else? What do you do and how did you find out about the opportunity? Where I am there seem to be so few options in secondary care, and I don't really want to go private.

KCA Surrey
Hi there - I wondered if anyone has experience of working at KCA in Surrey? I have been offered a job there and would appreciate some feedback from anyone who has knowledge or experience of working in this service. If you prefer to keep it confidential them please PM me, any feedback appreciated.

Re: Recovery rates & capability route
Thanks both. I keep thinking I must have misunderstood because I can't see how it could be legal really or how any service could get away with it, I assume they just wear down staff with performance reviews until they resign. As you say Milka it doesn't point to a supportive attitude from management...

Recovery rates & capability route
Hello, I have been applying for IAPT jobs as an HI and have come across a couple of services where, in the past, staff have been put on capability procedures due to not consistently achieving a 50% recovery rate. This has shocked me a bit and I'm wondering whether it is wise to steer clear of jobs w...

Re: Recovery targets
Hi LIWY - thanks again. I haven't read up about the performance management process - that's a really good idea and I'll discuss it with my manager at the next supervision. My PEQs are nearly always very positive - I was wondering the extent to which this is taken into account as it doesn't ever seem...

Re: Recovery targets
Sorry secret squirrel, missed your post! I agree with everything you've said really, I find the targets problematic. Unfortunately in my service a huge amount of pressure is loaded from above to achieve a high recovery rate, it feels uncomfortable to say the least. This whole thread has helped me fe...

Re: Recovery targets
Thank you for all the lovely replies! I'm really glad I started this thread as it has reassured me. Just to answer some points: On a more practical note, are you using the measures to guide intervention? You will be more effective at changing scores if you target the symptoms that are being measured...

Re: Recovery targets
Thank you baa! Performance review hasn't been mentioned to be fair, so I'm catastrophising, but I am picking up pressure from management - my recovery rates are mentioned at every supervision and eyebrows raised! Its really helpful to know others' rates vary too, the message I pick up from my servic...
