Yannis I too agree with just about all that you say. But just a note on the Counselling Psychology Trainee coming from Charity organisations for most of their training. I really do feel (well I know) that these trainees are working within a purely counselling model for the most part, which means tha...

Interesting thread. I'm not ready to become extinct  To be honest, it gets my goat all of this. I have had no problems getting jobs that weren't advertised for counselling psychologists. I apply anyway. I struggle to see the difference sometimes and so do my clinical psychology colleagues. It...

When I was an assistant in neuro, we ran a small newsletter group (this was hospital based and people we in there for a lengthy period). Each person had a specific job. It really helped peole engage with each other.

I'm getting married in Sri Lanka in 3 weeks time. We have little idea of how this will pan out because the hotel is arranging it all. So it will be a suprise for all!!! I feel quite relaxed about it, though every now and then I get a little nervous. Really looking forward to it.

Please don't send me buckets of emails telling me I must attend all of the madatory training, like...how to wash my hands properly, how to use a bath aid, splinting a hand. Please don't make me attend 'team building meetings' so you can powerpoint me to death with policies and then wonder why half t...

Regarding administering WAIS etc and interpretation of such tests surely depends on where you did your training. There appears to be an assumption that Couns Psy's don't get to do these things in training. I don't know why that is. I work in a neuro post and I am liceneced to use them at that 3rd le...
