Re: IAPT PWP vs Assistant Psychologist?Which is better for D

Wow sounds as though you're in a really good position there- well done!! Both routes have their advantages (and sometimes disadvantages!)- the trainee PWP course will give you a good grounding in CBT theory as well as some really good clinical experience to reflect upon on application forms/intervie...

Re: Trainee low intensity PWP application form

Yes I would always mention a little about everything that's in the essential/desirable part of the person spec even if it says it won't be directly tested until the interview stage

Re: What experience did you have when you got first AP post?

I graduated with a first in 2012 and had done 1 year volunteering at a bereavement charity one morning per week. After graduating I spent 18 months as a support worker in LD/Mental Health. Throughout this time I applied for many AP posts but didn't even get an interview. I then applied and got offer...

Re: Trainee Mental Health Worker Interview

Hey just wondering whether this is for the role in Sutton and if so do you know whether they've shortlisted yet?

Re: Job offer, current employer, references and notice

Hi, I was in this situation a few months back. It's ok to verbally tell your employer that you will be leaving and to expect a reference request. At the same time I would also mention that you do not have a start date yet but will keep them informed. Once you have received your contract and start da...

Honorary AP post vs HCA in mental health unit

Hi guys, Would like to hear your thoughts on a bit of a difficult situation I'm in. I am currently working as a support worker in a LD & MH supported living service. Have really enjoyed my role but now feel like i've learnt all that I can here and feel it's time to move on. I was offered a paid posi...

Re: Verbal offer of a job but no offer letter- NHS

Thanks :-) In terms of how I managed the waiting time, it was very difficult at times!! For the first few weeks I was calling HR up every couple of days to find out what was happening but they kept saying the delay was with the recruiting manager whereas he was saying it was with HR. I felt very fru...

Re: Verbal offer of a job but no offer letter- NHS

Hi...believe it or not but I only received my offer letter last week!! So will be about another month before I could start (crb, references etc) but I think I might as well wait till the new year now. My interview was first week of august so it took 2 months for my offer letter to be sent out- but I...

Re: Offered a job but funding not secured- NHS- plz help

Thanks for your responses :-) I guess what is really annoying is the person who offered me the job didn't even bother to say that the funding hadn't been confirmed. I only found out when I chased HR because I hadn't received my offer letter! Glad it all worked out for you guys, hoping I'll be lucky ...

Re: Commuting for jobs

When I was doing my undergraduate degree, my journey to uni was about 1hr30 minutes. It really didn't bother me that much- BUT I think one of the main reasons for this was it was just one train and then a 10 minute walk. This meant I always got a seat and could either use the time to catch up on rea...

Re: Offered a job but funding not secured- NHS- plz help

I've been thinking about it last night and I've come to the same conclusion Maven. Although I've been told a verbal job offer is legally binding, I would have a hard time proving I'd had a verbal offer anyway.

Not giving up hope just yet- hopefully things might still work out. Thanks for your help

Offered a job but funding not secured- NHS- plz help

Hi, I'm just looking for some advice really. I attended an interview for a position within the NHS in an acute mental health ward. I then received a phone call verbally offering me the position. I have spoken to HR a couple of times over the past few days who said they had received confirmation from...

Verbal offer of a job but no offer letter- NHS

Hi guys, I've been verbally offered a job in a mental health inpatient unit but have not received a letter yet. I called HR who told me the ward manager had not yet informed them that I had been appointed, and hence why I have not been sent a conditional offer letter yet. Apparently this is true for...
