Re: Bangor 2016

Hi everyone,

I'm a current Bangor first year trainee, however I will be joining your cohort when you get to second year as I am going to be taking a year of maternity leave. I look forward to meeting you all in 2017!!

Re: A-Levels question

I didn't put my a-levels on my application form as they where abysmal! I didn't go to university to do my undergraduate psychology degree until I was 25 and that was after I completed an access course, so I just put my access qualification in that section. I'm a current first year trainee so it didn...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) Attempting to put the finishing touches to a presentation I need to give on Tuesday...not much fun. 2) Attempting to put the finishing touches to the presentation whilst significantly jet lagged...not entirely sure I'm making any real progress, just confusing myself more than anything. 3) That ho...

Re: Pregnant in first year of course?

Hiya, I'm a first year trainee and I'm due to give birth to first child in August! My course have been supportive throughout my pregnancy (I had a very difficult first trimester) and I will be finishing to go onto maternity leave at the end of July. I am taking a full year maternity leave and I plan...

Re: Participants needed - Experiences of pregnancy

Hi,

What will the closing date for this study be? I'm 5 weeks away from the third trimester so wondering if you will still be recruiting then?

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

Firegal, I've had previous supervisor 'issues', needless to say when I changed jobs I tactfully brought it up with my new supervisor mainly to see what kind of relationship we were going to have, thankfully it worked well! 1) Halfway through my pregnancy and the vomiting has finally stopped... 2) Ap...

Re: Caseload

I have a caseload of 6 regular clients on my AMH placement, seen over three days. I will also cofacilitate group work, do some screening assessments plus spend time completing admin, preparing for sessions, attending team meetings and approx two hours supervision per week (one hour formal, one hour ...

Re: Length of maternity leave

I wnt back after a year, and used my mat leave accrued annual leave to return on a very slow phased return so I didn't have 'leaving baby shock' (mine!). It worked really well for us. Hope you find a way that works out xx I'm planning on doing the phased return/annual leave thing too, as when I go ...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

The more time I spend on placement, the more I find myself drawing upon theories I learnt about at undergraduate level.

Re: Length of maternity leave

Maybe not a particularly helpful response, but I'm going to be taking a full year, mainly as I feel it will be easier all around to just slot in to then next cohort. Remember that you will be accruing annual leave too so it is possible to take a year maternity break but the last part is annual leave...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. Today, Mr Memifer and myself went and bought our pram for baby Memifer 2. I never thought I would get excited about picking out a pram! 3. Is it bad that I'm already daydreaming about maternity leave? (Not going to start it until July!) 4. Little nervous about rejoining a new cohort for second ye...
