Self-funding CBT course - placements

Does anyone have any tips about getting a placement for a self-funded HI/CBT therapy course (place on course secured)? How many days/week did you work alongside the course to get the necessary clinical hours? I gather that most placements are unpaid and that 2 days/week plus supervision should be su...

Re: Online therapy or remote psychology jobs

Being familiar with mental health services in different countries, it doesn‘t seem ethical to to me to offer therapy services as a digital nomad (although the idea is certainly very attractive from a lifestyle perspective). However, I could see how you may be able to offer video therapy within the c...

5) designing research on a given topic would be great since this task requires you to use your knowledge, be creative, and explain your study in a clear way - so challenging.. But I look forward to your thoughts on any of the outlined areas, Miriam!

Re: Moving to NHS Scotland as a PWP

Hi Eriya, Thanks so much for your reply! Great advice! I‘ve contacted the university of Stirling to check if any coursework can be counted towards the degree but it does sound like it‘s quite a different role.. I‘d love to hear more about what working as a CAAP is like! Would it be ok if I sent you ...

Moving to NHS Scotland as a PWP

Hi all, I'm a qualified PWP from the South of England and currently looking into possible job opportunities in Scotland due to my partner being offered a great job opportunity there. Unfortunatly, IAPT doesn't exist in Scotland. I understand that the role of a "Clinical Associate in Applied Psycholo...

Re: Average age getting onto PWP training?

I was 29 when I started my training but I know many PWPs who started their training at a much younger age, for instance two trainees in my cohort were 24 and one was 23. In my service, most people tend to be between 25 and 35.. In my experience it's always worth finding out about opportunities to vo...
