5 Ps formulation - all therapeutic modalities or just CBT?

I'm wondering whether the 'generic' 5Ps formulation is considered helpful when using therapeutic modalities other than CBT? Has anyone used it prior to working with families/clients using systemic therapy or narrative therapy? or would there be something epistemologically 'off' about doing this?
