Re: pre-interview visit to potential place of work?
Thanks Blue. Yes, I've heard it is seen as almost necessary at senior levels. A psychiatrist who advised me to visit before the interview said that they aren't even considered for the role if they don't visit first! My instinct is that it isn't necessary but I'm really interested in hearing people's...

Re: Eating disorder experience
I'm with SparkyMarky, I was a bank healthcare assistant but worked pretty much full time on an eating disorders inpatient ward. I'm now an assistant psychologist in a specialist eating disorders team!

pre-interview visit to potential place of work?
Hi everyone, I've got an interview coming up for a band 5 assistant psych post in IAPT and wondered what people's thoughts were about phoning and asking if I can pop in for a visit and informal chat prior to the interview? I've been advised by a couple of people to do this but who are in posts other...

Re: Applying for NHS Jobs AP Posts
I'm with you claireemma, I go through the person spec point by point and briefly say how I meet each criteria. I've had lots of interviews and the new character limit doesn't seem to be a problem :) I also put a brief personal statement of a few lines at the beginning to say why I'm specifically int...

Thanks for this Spatch, I received my fourth red half an hour ago and this has made me feel a little less like a complete failure! It's a hard old game this.

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications
It's so helpful to hear from people what their journeys to training so far have been like. Personally it has given me a lot of hope and reassurance that it is OK if I don't get on this time round. So thank you everyone!

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications
I haven't had a letter from Plymouth yet either! Surely they don't post the yes letters and no letters at different times? Royal Mail can be a bit crappy, lets all just assume that the post in our areas is being a bit slower than in others!
