Re: Any Tips for a Nervous Driver?

I think if it's only your second lesson after a 5 year break, it's understandable that you're feeling nervous or anxious. Learning to drive is quite a big deal! Similarly to you I had lessons before uni, but managed to pass, but I had no car or insurance so didn't manage to drive again until 3 years...

Re: 8a to 8b

I don't have any experience of this personally, but I have seen person specifications for 8b posts that say 4 years post qualification experience. I'm not sure how this fits for you and obviously everyone is different, but it might be useful as a rough guideline. :)

Re: Request to change a worker

I think it would depend on a number of factors including the service/department and whether it would be possible to accommodate a change..some Clinical psychologists are working alone into a service so seeing someone else would not be a possibility. In this case it would be about trying to address t...

Re: MSc's and Charterships

It depends on the route you're taking - health and forensic psychology require accredited MSc qualifications as part of the training route, but clinical doesn't, as long as your degree has GBR. However that said, many candidates for clinical will have an MSc, but not necessarily an accredited one.

Re: Teeth clenching causing jaw pain and headaches

Thanks for the reply Will. I definitely agree that overly simplistic explanations are unhelpful! I also agree that it would be helpful to have some psychologically informed work on this issue, given that there are quite a few of us, just on here that seem to be affected. This sounds like the start o...

Thanks both. It's really helpful to hear some personal experiences and I'm glad you've both been able to find some relief :)

Teeth clenching causing jaw pain and headaches

Hi All, Can anyone recommend anything specific for jaw clenching in response to stress that has become a habit (ie. Is happening even in non stressful situations and at night). Ive obviously thought of the basics around stress management and becoming more mindful of clenching and reducing this where...
