Re: Experiencing mental health difficulties during your care

I'm so sorry to hear that you've had these experiences and that they've had this effect. I think chatting to HR is the first most and most important thing that you...

Re: Applying for a PhD studentship for 2016

My advice would be to find a potential supervisor and go from there. In my experience, those that are successful in being granted funding, are those that have a lot of support from their to-be-supervisor. It can be a political minefield, and so it can be a lot easier with someone on your side. I wou...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. I only got the bloody job!

2. Amazing, considering I thought the interview was tomorrow, so had done very little prep

3. This is going to make such a difference to my family as my crazy 1.5 hour commute will be halved

4. Dreading telling my lovely boss and team :(

5. Wine time!

I'd love to, but would have to bring my little one? Not sure how much of deal breaker that is?

Miriam - are you a powerlifter?!

My mum lifted competitively throughout my youth, then moved onto coaching. She's been the British paras coach for over 10 years :D

Funny how worlds collide!

Thanks, Ell!

Like I said, no rush.

Need to get bum in gear and start contributing on the site, now I'm well out 'the other side'. Damn my full time job and pesky children ;)

Re: Anyone with young children?

Sorry, El, I've only just seen that you asked a question! It worked out fantastically. I went part time. I was on placement 3 days a week, and then at home 2. Then, at the end of placement/ the course I was on a two day a week contract to complete my research. The course could not have been more hel...

Re: Second hand WISC-iv

Oh I see, do you mean buying a new, older version? Interesting, shall look.

Would rather a WISC than a WAIS, really.

Second hand WISC-iv

Afternoon all. I'm working for a charity (as a clinical psychologist), and we're looking to buy a WISC. Obviously, quite pricey brand new, so I wondred whether anyone knew whether there's any way of getting one second hand? Probably not, but I would love to save the team budget some pennies!
