Re: Help! Where can i do 60 credits

You don't need a Masters to do the Derby 60 credits.

You don't need 60 credits if you're doing an MSc conversion. You only need the 60 credits if you're only doing a PGDip conversion.

*ash*, I can't believe you think your application sounds weedy; your experience all sounds superb, relevant and far-ranging to me. I don't think you'll have a problem getting on.

Re: Degree classification question

Well done, Summer!

I am a little confused - isn't the issue just that the uni has made a mistake/typo? Querying it wouldn't be classed as an appeal, surely?

Re: Is a msc conversion any good when undergrad is 3rd

I would take an extra module or resit a module as necessary with the OU, to try and pull your grade up. I know it's an extra expense, and extra time - but I really think you need at least a 2:2 in your pocket.

Mungle's idea is also a good one.

Hi Shuller,

I have been accepted onto the MMU MSc so maybe I will be 'seeing' you in September? :D

Re: OU degree %

Why do you think it is that a 70% at the OU doesn't equate to a 70% anywhere else? I know this isn't really the topic of the thread, but still, it's an interesting question. I have never understood why traditional universities don't seem to use the full range of 0-100. I have studied with the OU bef...

Re: Conversion course , please help!

Hi Beth, With conversions being Masters, they are classed in a slightly different way, aren't they? I think I read something that you need 50% to gain your BPS accreditation, 60% for a merit and 70% for a distinction. So in this case, would a merit be equivalent to a 2:1 and thus you realistically n...

Re: Conversion course , please help!

That's interesting about the price differential, I wonder if that's all it can be? Yes, let's definitely keep in touch. When are you going to apply for MMU? Are you set on the PGDip? I know it's more expensive but for the sake of just an extra two months I thought I may as well try to go for the ful...

I am hoping from the lack of replies that maybe it's not as hard as I'm worried about to get on a MSc conversion after all?!

Has anyone's appl'n ever been rejected for a Conv course?

I know I'm only at the bottom of the pile here(!) but I wondered if anyone could say how easy it is to get accepted onto a Conversion course? I did a quick search of the forum and found one person who was rejected for having a 2:2 so it does happen. But surely it can't be as simple as "if you have a...

Re: Conversion course , please help!

Hi Shuller, I believe the MMU Conversion course is only in its first year of presentation (2014-2015 academic year), so there aren't any graduates around yet. It would be great if a current student were out there though, so that they could let us know how they're getting on. I am also currently doin...
