Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

Hang in there firegal! 1. Had an amazing birthday yesterday, better than I expected 2. Really struggling to prioritise tasks both within and outside HI training... I know what needs to be done but for some reason I am struggling to apply all my usual techniques. Also my living environment is so much...

You're welcome :) I'm enjoying it but it's a challenge because the pace is super fast. Happy to answer any questions via pm if that would be useful.

Re: Trainee High Intensity Therapist Role

There are usually two cohorts; March & October. I'm in the October cohort, I think our applications opened May/June and interview was in July. You need to apply through King's, unless they've changed since this time last year. http://www.central-london-cbt.com/courses/post-graduate-diploma-in-cognit...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

My fellow Assistant colleague is awfully confident and taunts me by saying he'll be successful his first time applying as he's so lucky and walked into his Assistant job with no experience - when it's unlikely I will be successful this time (second attempt). It sounds like the kind of hubris that c...

Re: Ieso Digital Health - Online CBT

The only one I have worked with directly in terms of using and accessing as a therapist to work with clients is SilverCloud, but we also refer clients to Big White Wall or IESO. I don't know any others, but I think Better Help are becoming big at the moment. Do you have any specific questions I coul...

Re: Ieso Digital Health - Online CBT

I don't have personal experience but I've referred a lot of clients to them, and my best friend was a patient through IESO. I've only heard good things.

Re: Book recommendation for formulation

I use Assessment & Case Formulation in CBT 2nd edition by Corrie, Townend and Cockx (currently doing my IAPT HI), or Formulation in Psychology & Psychotherapy 2nd edition by Johnstone & Dallos which is broader and covers formulations across different disciplines (e.g. CBT, systemic, psychodynamic, n...

Re: Psychology Degree Advice

My advice would be to read primary sources extensively outside of the course materials when working on assignments, synthesise information and think critically about everything. Also, try to use contemporary research in assignments as much as possible. Mention classic studies if necessary, but go i...

Re: A question for the cat owners of ClinPsy

I think the most important thing is that the introduction is gradual and you are able to be around for the first few days or so to help them feel at ease and get acquainted. As they are similar in temperament (especially since you described them as placid!) I would imagine it will be OK, probably ev...
