Re: Positive experiences working in IAPT?

Hi there! Congratulations on getting your post first of all. Make sure you let yourself celebrate regardless! I've worked in IAPT for the past 4.5 years. I started as a graduate mental health worker, then a PWP, then a trainee HI CBT therapist, and now I am a CBT therapist, having qualified late las...

Re: Is there scope for high intensity therapists to be scientist practitioners?

Hiya, recently qualified HIT here. I'd be interested to know the answer for this too. In my experience I haven't seen it toooo much but I have only been in IAPT and I know people do get CBT Therapist roles elsewhere. There are opportunities in some services to be involved with audits and pilots so t...

4. I'm not entirely sure where my new softer approach to myself and personal goals has come from, but I am really appreciating it - not everything has to be done NOW, and not everything has to be done 110%, it will be done when I can do it, before it's too late, and to the best of my abilities at t...

Re: High intensity training but still doing PWP work?

@Henbri - Congratulations on the post! I hope you enjoy training. Regarding what is normal, it probably depends on your course / service area, so I would recommend you ask others in your cohort. I trained in London, and quite a few of my fellow trainees were also in services that wanted them to do S...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. Starting new job tomorrow. Looking forward to it, but I hate change so eeeeep. 2. I am terrible at relaxing 3. I want to be a pet mum so bad! The desires to own pets and DIY-decorate my home are the main reasons I wish I could afford to buy. 4. I can't wait for bestie to come over next week and h...

Re: IAPT High Intensity - no pg qualification

I am having issues filling in my KSA for Step 3 CBT therapist role. I assume you mean for the trainee role? I.e. a place on an HI training course? Was anyone able to get into Step 3 CBT therapist role without a postgraduate qualification? Yes! It's absolutely possible :) Good job on being prepared ...

Lingua I'm so sorry. Sending as much warmth, high hopes and love as I can over the internet. Try not to blame yourself if the worst does happen, it's not like you could have predicted or desired it. Hoping you travel safely and your luggage finds you. x
