Re: Moving to do DClinPsy
Eriya A big change is never 100% positive. There is always sacrifice and we shouldn't have to feel guilty for the negatives. We will work it out. I have recently connected with other trainee's to be at Plymouth, and this has made me feel so much better as I know they are feeling it too. If you were ...

Re: What experience did you have when you got on training?
On my second application, I have been offered a place at Plymouth University. In all honesty... I was offered a place by the skin of my teeth. At applications I had outright No's from Cardiff and Bath, and reserve interview slots for Exeter and Plymouth. Luckily Plymouth had a slot that opened up. A...

Re: Moving to do DClinPsy
Hi Newmember2017 I think I can relate to how your feeling but my issue is the opposite. I don't live that far away from my placement base, but it is just far enough to be too long to commute. I also have that strange feeling that sits between "wow this is such an amazing opportunity, I'm excite...

Re: Plymouth 2018
Hiya Just another shout out to anyone who has confirmed their place at Plymouth. I was thinking of setting up a group facebook pages, as this has been really useful for previous courses for course, placement and social stuff. I just need at least another person's email to set the page up. Gimme a sh...

Re: How many years after graduation before you got on the course
4 years after graduating I gained a place this year. I applied in 2016 and it was all flat out NO's This year I got 2 NO's and 2 reserve interviews. I was offered a place by the only University to offer me an interview, as I was not picked up from the reserve list from the other University. It is st...

Re: Plymouth 2018
Hi Everyone, I was thinking of setting up a Facebook group for Plymouth DClinPsy 2018. We had a FB group for my PostGrad Diploma and it was so useful for Uni and work stuff, as well as organizing socials. I am happy to set it up and everyone can be admins to edit the group. I just need at least one ...

Re: Plymouth 2018
Hiya Agc, Congratulations on being high on the reserve list. I don't know how much they typically move by, but two years ago but friend was 1st reserve and was offered a place. I guess potentially they could move a fair bit because so many other uni's need to interview. There is a dedicated thread f...

Re: IAPT versus AP
Hi I worked as a senior assistant psychologist, then trained as a high intensity therapist with IAPT and this year I have now been offered a place on the DClinpsy at plymouth Uni. So I would say it helped me.... But I agree it depends on the Uni. My only note is that IAPT is a beast of its own. It i...
