Re: Manchester Screening Assessment

I got the impression that the Manchester test is different. Manchester: GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) which takes around 3 hours. Includes analytical writing assessment, Integrated reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal. https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat Lancaster / Staffordshire etc: GMA (General...

Just to be clear, referees do not have to consent for you to be given a copy of a reference they have provided. You are legally able to request this and they are obliged to provide it if they hold it.
Thank-you for this information. I wasn't aware of this.

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread

Liverpool Trent Sheffield Manchester Third time applying. Looking back and comparing myself to other applicants, I really do feel as though I applied way too early. I'm also fearful that my undergrad grade (62) is holding me back. Probably need to be a bit more strategic with where I apply next tim...

Re: Rejected from interview due to references. Thoughts...?

Hi Psyfer, I had the same experience this year with a different university. I contacted the Leeds Clearing House to receive a copy of my references (or you can request them from your referee's yourself). They will contact your referee's as they have to consent to this and then send them on to you. I...

Re: Working/volunteering during undergraduate degree

During my second year I did way too many extra curricular activities (part-time work, vounteering, sports teams, societies and of course, drinking with friends etc). My grades really did suffer at the end of second year (2:2). I learnt during the summer in my second year that I really needed to cut ...

Re: Academic Referee Guidance

I'm in a similar boat at the moment. I'm strategically emailing my academic reference at times when I know they will be on their computer... I have also been told that the Clearing House will send off your application in a later batch if your reference is not in yet. Good luck with the polite nudgin...

Why pay a trainee?

What are the reasons for paying a trainee Clinical Psychologist a Band 6 salary? I'm an Assistant Psychologist and I'm just trying to get a better understanding of this. It just seems strange to me as when CP training is compared to other health care professionals in training, they are the only ones...

NHS vs non-NHS AP

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could give me an insight into why so few people apply for non-NHS Assistant Psychologist posts, compared to NHS Assistant Psychologist posts? I have had an interview for the NHS where there has been over 200 applicants, but I have also had an interview for a non-NHS...

Interview questions for the interview panel

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good questions to ask the interview panel at an AP interview. Also; what should definitely NOT be asked? I am someone with no experience in this so would really appreciate any help!

Thanks.
