Re: 2018 Doctorate Application Progress thread

Not to derail the thread, but a quick tip for those who have applied to Bangor and not heard anything yet - check your junk emails! Quite a few of those on my cohort had no idea they had been invited to interview until the day before the deadline to confirm attendance when the course rang round to f...

Re: Investigative Psychology

Hi, I can't advise as to which of the MScs would be 'best' for your future applications, but I can reassure you that I got a place on the DClinPsy with an MSc Forensic Psychology. I don't know how much consideration was paid to the topic of my MSc, but I did acknowledge the move from Forensic to Cli...

Re: Verbal and numerical reasoning tests

Try not to worry too much, as has been said before everyone finds it difficult as it changes adaptively so you never know! Personally, I think I did okay for me, but based on practice tests I've done before I know that my numerical reasoning skills are below par, so I won't be holding my breath! I d...

Re: Verbal and numerical reasoning tests

Yes exactly, that was the same as I had planned! I also did not want to do it while tired after work, but doing it last weekend would have meant a whole week less practice. Are you just continuing to try and load it this evening? I feel like we should be trying to work something out, as leaving it ...

Re: Verbal and numerical reasoning tests

Thanks FunkyB, glad (in a way!) to hear it's not just me, although very frustrating too. I've had no luck, really want to get it done today as I'm working tomorrow. I do understand that it should not be left to the last minute, but what with some of the other unis doing a later window, I wanted to ...

Re: Verbal and numerical reasoning tests

Hi Clinpsymember, I feel you - the exact same thing has happened to me, both yesterday and today! Yesterday was particularly scary as I had logged in to do my numerical test and decided to procrastinate by doing the practice one, and the site went down half way through my practice one. This may be t...

Re: Courses with selection tests - no personal statement

Thank you very much for your response. That's certainly a game changer!I must have overlooked those instructions during my panicked and, perhaps unsurprisingly, brief attempt at a practice test previously! Found it immensely difficult without a calculator and closed my browser pretty sharpish... Oops!

Re: Courses with selection tests - no personal statement

Hiya,

Sorry if this has already been asked before, but I cant seem to find anything using search. Are we able to use calculators/ make hand calculations during the numerical reasoning test? (I've never done one before and want to get in as much practice as I can!)

Thanks in advance!
