Useful research linking to practice

I’m really interested in the link between research findings and practice (it was the topic of my undergraduate thesis and is now at the forefront on my mind, as I’m thinking about potential postgraduate thesis topics) - would people be willing to list a few studies which they have found personally u...

Re: UCL Trainee PWP application for September 2017 start

Hi all, I heard back today, offered a trainee role with Enfield and Haringey. Congratulations! Seems like you had strong previous experience, so I can see why they snapped you up. Did you find the interview hard or OK? I'm a career changer so struggled a bit in mine as I don't have recent clinical ...

Re: Negative interview feedback on self awareness & reflexiv

Thanks for your input Spatch. Just to clarify - this is not job feedback, or peer feedback. It's not been mentioned as an issue with anyone who has worked with me, or my peers in other courses when I've asked for input on this, or even as something my therapist flagged when I was seeing one during a...

Negative interview feedback on self awareness & reflexivity

So, for the second time, I've had interview feedback saying that I was not reflexive or self-aware enough. I have thought about the feedback and really don't believe that these comments are reflective of who I am as a person, but clearly I'm struggling to show these qualities adequately at interview...

Re: UCL Trainee PWP application for September 2017 start

I forgot to ask when I would hear back... I had a terrible interview too. I really wasn't expecting the questions that they asked so pani...

Re: Trainee PWP interview - Knowsley IAPT

Hello Was wondering those who were successful at interview if you could list some questions they asked pleased as I have one coming up and I'm just trying to prepare the best I can. Also did you only have an interview with your chosen IAPT service? and not with a university. Just wondering what the...

No I haven't heard back. I originally rushed and put no preferences down, then contacted admissions and asked to be placed in either Camden or Enfield x
Camden have contacted their interviewees, I think, as a girl one of the AP Facebook groups was offered her interview at least a week ago.

Counselling psychology courses & NHS jobs

Apologies in advance, this is a long one. I'm aware counselling psychology is not the focus of the forum, but I've been searching past posts and googling frantically to find out 'real life' experiences of trainees and counselling psychologists regarding the various courses out there and employabilit...

Avoiding pejorative terms

I have a question on pejorative terms that I hope some people can help with - I'm a potential career changer who gathered some Psychology experience during and after Uni (which was quite a long time ago!) which I will want to reference in future applications. I'm aware that the acceptable terminolog...
