Re: * Honorary Assistant Psychologist - Job Interview * Help / Advice Please!

Different trusts etc will be different in terms of what they ask, but when I had an Hon. AP interview a lot of the questions were more scenario based.

Re: Interview adjustments/alternatives

Hey. I'm not on the autistic spectrum but I can relate to how you've felt some interviews have gone. I have had some awful interviews where I just didn't know what to say and was over in just minutes but I've noticed that I've progressed so much more as I get more experience with interviews. Mock in...

Re: Rejections

Yes I have asked for feedback after all my interviews and I have definitely improved with my responses over time. Recent feedback I've had is to talk a bit more about supervision and look at guidelines around this, and another one was to incorporate more psychologically-minded responses. Both of whi...

Rejections

Hey, I'm hoping someone may have advice. I have been fortunate enough to have been shortlisted for a number of AP roles over the last few years... but with absolutely no success following the interview. Most psychologists have given me great feedback and I've worked on this. However the last few int...

Experience - Catch 22

Hi Everyone, I've had a number of interviews for AP jobs over the past year or so, and I always get given the same feedback. "Someone else has more experience than you, try and get more experience". The experience they refer to is mostly regarding things such as cognitive assessments, and you can't ...

I'm quite sad about Cardiff as that is my preferred choice, but I'm also not surprised because the numerical reasoning test was awful! I don't have high hopes for Bath either but this is only my first time of applying.

This is my first time applying. Disappointed I haven't been shortlisted for the top two but I'm holding out and hoping I will have some luck with my final two!

Re: Numerical Reasoning test problems

Thank you!

I wasn't planning on leaving it until last minute but I panicked when I went to do it in the week!

It's all done and dusted now though. Phew! Panic over.

Numerical Reasoning test problems

Hi everyone. I am having issues with the numerical reasoning test. (I know, I shouldn't have left it until now but I panicked when I went to do it the other day). But I have done the verbal reasoning test. Anyway, I started doing it with no problems, accidentally closed the page down. Went to go bac...

Re: Issues with reference

Thank you for your replies. :D I haven't had chance to contact clearing house yet, but I will do this tomorrow morning. Did you manage to sort it out? What was the outcome? I wasn't able to phone clearing house as it got really hectic with work so I emailed them. They sent me information form their...

Issues with reference

I am currently having an issue with regards to my clinical reference. I have asked a senior in work to do it but now she's been told by HR that she's not allowed to do it because she doesn't "directly manage me". Although she has in the past. They are saying that I have to have it from the person ab...

Working with transgender individuals

At my current place of work, we have a service user who is transgender and identifies as male (female to male). I have always addressed him as male. However one of my colleagues (his support worker) keeps referring to him as she and when writing up notes also refers to him as she. I just wondered wh...
