Hello I am currently looking for participants to complete an online survey for my MSc in Research Methods in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. The projects aims to consider associations between childhood experiences and personality traits using an online Qualtrics questionnaire. It has ...

Re: Looked After Children 0-4 age group
I generally just work through the substitute parents at this stage helping them to consider therapeutic parenting that supports the child's attachment. I help them to consider the impact of the child trauma/disrupted attachment. 'Brain based parenting' by Jon Baylor and Dan Hughes is a good place to...

Thanks Bluecat. That sounds very hopeful. Sounds like a great team you work with. My understanding is that the Theraplay institute are now not allowing social workers not already on their practicum to become fully accredited unless they have an additional qualification such as play therapy. Luckily ...

Re: DClinPsy hopeful 2:2 degree but 17yrs experience.
Thank you Maven. Having looked further in the High Intensity training I agree that this is not the right route for me. Re: DClinPsy hopeful 2:2 degree but 17yrs experience.
Thank you Alex H for your helpful response. Yes my bsc did have GBR. I think the problem with my dissertation was that I was way too ambitious in what I was looking at - observing types play in Autistic children. I ended up with a very small sample and wanted to totally change it halfway through but...

DClinPsy hopeful 2:2 degree but 17yrs experience.
Hello I would really like to realise my dream of becoming a clinical psychologist. I got a 2:2 in my BSc in Behavioural Science 17 years ago because I messed up my dissertation. I was told I wouldn't get on a doctorate so I instead embarked on a career in social work. I have now been a social worker...

Re: PWP Interview - move from social work
I am a social worker and have moved into a therapeutic social work role working with adopted children and their families with trauma and attachment issues. Look into Theraplay and ddp (dyadic developmental psychotherapy) training as you can become accredited and it would more doors for you including...
