Re: Liverpool 2019

Congrats - to both the pregnancy and getting into the course. Are you going to the welcome day on July 8th?

Liverpool 2019

Hi all,

I couldn't see that a thread had been started already, so thought I'd go ahead now that the shock of being offered a place has worn off. It would be great to hear from others starting at Liverpool in September!

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread

Bangor > Bangor
Teesside > Teesside
Southampton
Liverpool > Liverpool

It's finally happening! I'm still in shock.

It would be great to hear from those also going to Liverpool. I'm relocating from the south of England!

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread

The trainees on the day said maybe we'd hear late on Tuesday about the outcome of the Liverpool interviews. Although, none of the course team mentioned when we would, so it's a bit up in the air.

Re: Reserve list for places 2019

I'm on the reserve list for Teesside... furthest I've ever gotten before. They don't tell you where you are on the reserve list, so will be trying not to get my hopes up!

Re: Psychologists working in memory clinics

Hey Prosopon, I hope I can help. I've worked in two dementia-related services, and one learning disability service where my role focused on completing neuropsychological assessments to investigate memory concerns. When I worked specifically in a memory service, the role was around completing neurops...

Re: First day as an assistant psychologist

Congrats on the new role! I very much agree with Lancelot here - new jobs can feel slow to begin with, and it can very much depend on who you have as a supervisor. I've had an AP job where my supervisor wasn't even in for the first week so I had nothing planned in. I took the opportunity to get to k...

Re: Logging into clearing house diffiuclties

No difficulties here. Perhaps try contacting the clearing house to let them know? Email screen shots perhaps so they have all the info. Have you tried using a different machine to log in with? Is your internet browser up to date? Have you accepted cookies from the website? Have you tried deleting yo...

Re: Any advice for the personal statement?

I think I would use the personal statement as a chance to show what you have learnt, but in a reflective way which indicates how you've grown as a health care professional and person in general. So not just simply stating I did this, this and this - if that makes sense. It's good to hear you've made...

Re: Any advice for the personal statement?

I am by no means an expert here, and am going through the application process myself, but I would spend some time in supervision reflecting on this question and how to go about answering it. Are you in a role where you have a clinical psychologist as a supervisor?

Re: Assistant Groups

Hi all, I work for Southern Health, based in Hampshire, and am looking to create an AP group. I've created a survey if you're interested in letting me know your thoughts on this: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/X3ZPNGB This will be sent in the Trust's bulletin next week... I hope. Thanks! Jaxdawn -...

Re: The Big Interview Reserve List Thread

I called Liverpool yesterday (obviously eager for an update :P) - I was number 23 on the reserve list for an interview when first hearing back in March. I'm now number 3. So a huge change! I'm hoping there will be even more movement...
