Re: Manchester 2017

Annoyingly, I think the viva will be in November. I'd have loved it to have been before the course, but I just don't think it's possible. Oh well. I could create a FB group and send the link to join to all the emails we have. Then people can choose to opt in. Who knows, it might end up being just th...

Re: Manchester 2017

Hi both! I did the same with the DBS. I registered last week and I now have a tracking number so can check my DBS progress. Mine is still in progress at the moment. Did you ignore all the other stuff in that email? Tracey Hepburn said to so I only acted on the DBS bit. I'm a bit nervous but also rea...

Thanks! Had a quick thought - Julian Wadden and Philip James are pretty hot agents for Didsbury/Chorlton etc. Might be good to approach them first.

Re: Manchester 2017

I can understand that. The benefit of a quick market is that lots of places do come up regularly and then if you're here for a few days, you'll hopefully see somewhere in that time, view it, and then take it. You could also put your name down with a few agents and tell them what you want and about y...

Re: Manchester 2017

I know it can feel never-ending, especially when things go wrong or crop up unexpectedly, but you're probably a lot further on than you think. And if you're not, you still have plenty of time to get there. Exciting times! Just think of the feeling once you submit - the relief is immense! Almost as ...

Re: Manchester 2017

That's a really good point re buses and also parking. It's also very difficult to park around the University. But, you can now get parking permits when you're registered as a postgrad at Manchester so there is always that option (about £20- 25 per month).

Re: Manchester 2017

I know it a little but mainly just the city centre, and we'll be looking a bit further out (due to finances and cats!) so any advice would be gratefully received! Yes I did mine a couple of years ago. Try not to worry too much, you'll get there - and probably far quicker than you realise! I remembe...

Re: Manchester 2017

Fantastic! Glad you've chosen Manchester. Do you know the city? Both me and Nicola live here so can offer any help on locations/where to live etc.

I am. Writing up is a real long slog I have to say. You have yours don't you?

Re: Manchester 2017

Yes I remember you!! I was the one opposite you with blonde hair. I was wearing a polka dot skirt and a cream top. I remember you saying you were off to Newcastle for an interview the next day?

Re: Manchester 2017

Ooh I interviewed Monday morning too! I was there very early around 9 but my interview was around 10/10.15. When was yours? I am at the University already and I know of at least 3 others who have had offers although I don't know if they've accepted them. So we now know there are at least 3, possibly...

Re: Manchester 2017

I know Prestwich. That'll be a nice quick commute to the Uni for you. I'm really excited, and relieved - I think I've checked the offer email at least 10 times to double check! I'm really looking forward to starting but at the same time I've had a few thoughts of 'oh, I've actually got to do this no...
