Re: Educational Psychology
Hi netball123, Yes, I do think you stand a chance of getting an interview if you submit a good application form with your current and (hopefully) post-graduation experience. And no, it's not all mainly "older people" with reams of experience who get the places! In my training cohort, our a...

Choir girl can I be cheeky and ask what part of the midlands that is? I'm sorry - I can't say at present - I don't want them to get inundated with enquiries before it's been agreed for definite that the post will be re-advertised and funding for it etc is secure! I'll post a link on here to the rel...

Re: Educational Psychology
Absolutely yes, Early Years teacher is seen as relevant experience. What makes you concerned that it might not be? It is still an educational setting; EPs do not work just in 'school' (5-16) settings, but are expected to work across - and therefore have skills and experience across - all kinds of se...

Re: Educational Psychology
Obviously since its a PhD It's not a PhD. It will sound pedantic to say so, but please make sure you understand the difference between a PhD (which the training is not) and an Applied Doctorate (which it is). They are separate things, and you might risk sounding as if you haven't done your homework...

Re: HCPC Standards Review - Have Your Say Please!
Just a quick post to say thank you BlueCat for posting this here (and other places) and highlighting the lack of specific professional supervision requirements/guidance in the Standards of Proficiency. I alerted my colleagues at work to this, and we spent part of our last team meeting re-clarifying ...

Re: Educational Psychology
Hi Imipod, Having read your post, this is what I think: - You have lots of really valuable and useful experiences related to working with children/young people, which will look good in the 'list of jobs' section of the application form. For each (or most) of these, can you now write a sentence or tw...

Re: Educational Psychology
Hi there, Apologies for not having been around on this board for such a long time - workload has been absolutely crazy for much of this (academic) year, and by the time I get to the end of the day switching on my laptop and staying in 'work mode' has been a distant second choice to 'falling asleep o...

Re: Educational Psychology
my 6,000 words is plenty of space to cover all that I have done! Please take care to note that the length of the personal statement is limited to 6,000 characters (including lines and spaces), not 6,000 words - you may not have as much space as you think :) (See P.32 of the application handbook)
