Wow, thanks Kari - that's really useful (and inspiring!!) to know :D I'll give the courses a ring to let them know and prepare before I go away (then attempt to chill on holiday!). Whereabouts were you in the reserve lists if you don't mind me asking? I'm less hopeful for Shrops & Staffs, being 22n...

Being a reserve list pro- I'd always say prepare, prepare, prepare! and treat it as though you do have an interview. Speak to the course- tell them you have a holiday and see what they suggest- they can be quite helpful with this sort of thing. I was on reserve list 2 years in a row- the first year ...

I got on this year and will be 29 when I start (and 34 when I qualifiy  ). This was my second year applying- I got 2 reserve interviews which lead to one firm offer and one reserve place- boy do I love the reserve list!  Previously studied art then worked in a shoe shop for a fe...

When I was really young I wanted to be an actress, then I wanted to be and artist, which progressed to be a textile designer. I then took a detour and just wanted to own lots of nice shoes and get drunk a lot  Then I returned to higher education and got my act together! I then wanted to be an a...

Isn't the internet wonderful?! Ok, last one.......... Doctor Bob had been 'intimate' with one of his patients and had felt guilty all day long. No matter how much he tried to forget about it, he couldn't. The guilt and sense of betrayal was overwhelming. Every once in a while, however, he'd hear tha...

After just a few years of marriage, filled with constant arguments, a young man and his wife decided the only way to save their marriage was to try counseling. They had been at each other's throat for some time and felt that this was their last straw. When they arrived at the counselor's office, the...

Classics!! In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber. "I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed the worried faces. "The only hope left for your loved one at t...

1. I would allow public funded organisations to carry funds over at the end of a financial year- without their budget being decreased. The amount of public money that is wasted around March every year disgusts me- I've seen it in schools and hospitals where I've worked. 2. I would do an agenda 4 cha...

When you are feeling like that- my advice is to take some time off  I know it's probably the last thing you feel like doing but you're probably procastinating anyway and not getting the most from any work you are doing. Just allow yourself some time off- either an evening or an entire day if ...
