Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire-8
Hi all
I don't suppose anybody has access to the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire-8. I have the full 28 question measure but I'm looking for the shortened version.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Re: PWP career options and working abroad
Hi Kbarys While I can't help you with your working abroad question, I can tell you that there are definitely some opportunities out there for PWPs to work remotely; particularly at the moment during COVID. It might be worth contacted agencies such as Sugarman MIND and Pulse as they sometimes offer s...

Re: Advice for getting onto HI training with OT qualification
I completed CBT training in 2018 and there were OTs on my course with mental health backgrounds, so it certainly is possible!

Re: Top up to Masters?
You can top up your diploma to a MSc at Teesside University too. You'll need to complete a research module and a dissertation.

Re: Careers in maternal mental health?
Many of the IAPT teams I have worked in have also had PWPs/HI therapists working into perinatal pathways.

Re: HI therapist vs AP for clin psych as a long term goal
I was in a similar situation to you. I had spent a number of years in IAPT as a PWP, but in an attempt to broaden my experiences I had just commenced an AP role when a trainee HI therapist position came up. I had to balance up the experience I would have received as an AP with access to a clinical p...

Re: BABCP CBT accreditation during DClinPsy
You can do this on the course I am on. Basically, CBT teaching counts toward the 450 CBT training hours required for accreditation and the 200 clinical hours can be made up on placement - but would mean elective placements would need to be very CBT-oriented. I'd imagine you would also need to write ...

Re: Can I make it?
It sounds like you have accrued lots of relevant experience, particularly so early on into your undergrad! I did nothing of relevance during my undergrad so essentially started from scratch when I graduated. I am a first year trainee now, yet it probably took me slightly longer to gain a place than ...

Re: Seeking Guidance on Supporting Statement
Christine, I had lots of variants of an application but tailored to specific client groups e.g. one for child, AMH, older adult, forensic etc etc. This really worked for me and meant that I could fire applications in quickly as I only needed to make a few minor tweaks (if any) to suit the job I was ...

Re: Part time work as an AP and PWP
Yes, I did this. I worked as a PWP for 3 days per week and an AP for 2 days per week. Work-load wise this felt manageable. Particularly as I had worked as a PWP for 3 and a half years before I secured the AP role and was feeling a little burnt out in IAPT - so the AP role kept things fresh and helpe...

The Lancaster course doesn't have any specific requirements for applicants degree classification!

Re: Experience/Application Advice
It can be tough deciding when to apply but I would advise only applying when it feels right for you; not based on when you feel your experiences match that of others. I remember when I first started out and how daunting it felt hearing stories of people who had years of experience without even getti...

4.) I may have found someone to teach me Kinyarwanda. My next postdoc will involve working with survivors and perpetrators of the Rwandan genocide, and I think it's vital that I learn a bit of the language in order to build up some trust with the participants. It's a tonal language, so a real chall...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .
Congratulations Ell! 1. Made the difficult decision not to apply for the doctorate this year after getting so close last year. I need to focus on passing HI and actually really should spend the 1 year consolidating these skills and working towards full CBT accreditation. It is a weight off to make ...
