Re: Why I'm not around much or responding to PMs

Thank you for letting us know Miriam. Definitely wise words - got to look after yourself before you can look after others.

Take care, enjoy the festive break and hear from you in the new year.

Marry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone else too :)

Re: If you want me to read your application form...

Hi Miriam and all,

Will you be offering a similar service this year at all?

It sounds that this has been really useful in the past :)

Re: Childline Volunteering

Hi, I've also volunteered at ChildLine as a telephone counsellor in the past and found the experience invaluable. Even though the training is a considerable commitment, I have found that it is still one of the most memorable trainings that I have ever had, particularly in regards to developing a per...

Re: Any sucess for tax refund while training?

I know my workplace have emailed the email address stated. Do you have any idea how long before HMRC emailed back with the schedule? I'm pleased for those successful with the refunds! :) Giving me hope for my own application. Shame it is such a slow process and feels like a fighting battle. Thank yo...

Re: Any sucess for tax refund while training?

Thank you for the updates everyone! This is really useful to know.

Is there a phone number that I could call?

The number I have is always busy and I'm not sure if the most appropriate one.
I sent in an application end of last year, and wanting to discuss it with them.

Re: I'm a bit stuck. CBT?

Hi

Sorry I've only just noticed the responses to this thread!

I was an AP when I applied- going through the KSA route as outlined above. It is pretty tedious but worth it.

Have you had any more responses?

Re: Reserve List for Interviews 2014

Just wondering if anyone has heard of any movement for the south wales interviews?

Sounding like some good movements at other courses so far :)

Re: I'm a bit stuck. CBT?

Hiya,

Just to let you know that I got onto the High Intensity CBT course without previous BABCP recognition.
However, I do have a fair bit of experience and a MSc so I think this probably helped.

Contacting the uni's sounds a good idea to me :)

Good luck

I'm from Birmingham and completed training with ChildLine - which sounds very similar in regards to training and support/guidance provided by the Samaritans. I definitely found this training beneficial in relation to my current work, particularly in regards to phrasing things appropriately and getti...

Re: The University of Birmingham 'Applicants day'

Wow! sounds good... have you got anywhere sorted yet? are you looking forward to the move?

I live in Birmingham already and can walk to the university from where I live, so you're making me feel a lil bit jammy :P
I currently work for Walsall Primary Care and will continue here. What about you? :)
