Re: WARNING - SLV Intl / SLVolunteers / Sri Lanka placements

I'm bumping this thread following discussions about SLV with my psychology team today so that people who are considering volunteering with them have all the information needed to make an informed decision before partaking. I wish I'd have known all of this before I went on a placement with them.

Re: How do prospective courses calculate overall undergraduate percentages?

Yes, but this doesn't state my overall %. It does list all my modules though I'm really interested in this too as my grade was a 2:1 and I know my overall % was above 65 making me a 'high/upper 2:1' but going form the clearing house guidelines I can't state the % as it inst documented on my degree t...

Re: References

I've just noticed the text below on the clearing house website Re Trent. Might be worth checking if its the case with any of your choices.

"Candidates should note that with the Clearing House application the Relevant Experience Reference MUST be from your current employer"

Re: References

I had a similar issue last year, having started a new job at the beginning of September with a temporary supervisor for two months before my actual supervisor took up the post. I had a conversation with my temporary supervisor as I didn't feel they were appropriate to comment on my competencies as I...

I suspect that figure will vary significantly based on the specific programme. Our rate would be under 1% for example.
That's really interesting. 1-20% is quite a variation between different courses?

Re: number of places versus number of applicants

Here you go, I made a ready-reckoner for you: https://i.imgur.com/zNdJ0jR.png Interesting data. Of course it would be even more interesting to look at the number of applicants who met course minimum criteria and compare that to the number of places offered, as that would give a more representative ...

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment

I've just received a reply to email asking for more info which confirms that Manchester will be using the GMA not the GMAT. "Please be aware that there is a currently an error on our course information page, the screening test to be used is the GMA (general mental ability) test, and not the GMAT tes...

Manchester Screening Assessment

I've just noticed on the clearing house website that Manchester has decided to add a pre screening assessment detailed below. "From 2020, applicants who meet all the entry requirements will be invited to sit a GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) test, which must be completed in order for them ...

The ACP tweeted this back in June "Briefing paper from @NHS_HealthEdEng out today confirming no changes to model of funding for clinical psychology training in England until 2021. Review to be carried out in consultation with stakeholders over next few months. ACP-UK to continue to press for full sa...

Re: Calling people "non-qualified(s)"

I've never really had a problem with being called non-qualified as an AP as in the teams I've worked in such phrases have been used to clarify the appropriate boundaries between roles. I've never known it to be used in a derogatory fashion as the majority of professionals appreciate the fiercely com...
