Re: booby prize

There have been some fair points well made. I appreciate that the OP was not considered appropriate for this site. There is a lot lost between saying something and writing it. The paucity of posts that in any way support where I might be coming from with this suggests that I've judged the forum inco...

Re: booby prize

First of all my post was a joke – a tad irreverent but a joke nonetheless. I would like to say I’m surprised by the response but after reading and posting on this site for a couple of years I am not. A few people on interview days had suggested certain courses seem to be full of young blondes – they...

booby prize

There is anecdotal evidence that some clinical courses pick young blondes with big boobs  (I assume they are female but then again...Viva la difference, that's what I say!). Does this mean there is a strong positive correlation between cup size and ability to practice in a reflective manner?

Re: What experience did you have when you got on training?

Hi all, 3rd year applying: 1st year – applied even though my open uni results coming through late meant I didn’t have GBR (optimistic bias in full effect there methinks…) Only Birmingham accepted the application and it was subsequently rejected. 2nd year – 2 interviews. Exeter was intense with a pre...

Re: Progress thread for Clinical Psychology applications 201

how come Clinical psych got a letter from Staffs yesterday (unlucky by the way and I hope there is movement so you get a place) and there has been nothing (as far as I can tell) for anyone else today? I would say it's driving me mental but I am not sure I can say that on this site and so I won't! Ha...

Re: Religion and faith

Interesting how my mild expression of discomfort at somebody who in my eyes seemed just a tad disrespectful has grown into such a debate! I personally feel it's okay to disagree w someone on an individual/ethical point but important to avoid lumping all people into the same category... Not all reli...

For a little light relief check out the animation short on utube - type in "so you want to be a clinical psychologist?"

Its from an American perspective but its a bit of a laugh...which is welcome at this time of year!

Re: The multiple-timers thread

Must be extra tough being female as there is the whole family issue to consider - there for men as well of course but the clock doesn't start running down in your late 30's. I often wonder why men are so under-represented in clinpsy - less empathy generally speaking maybe - compassion is more prevel...

Re: The multiple-timers thread

As the more mature applicant (ok, old…) I feel a sense of urgency that perhaps those in their 20’s don’t. Then again I am a little more philosophical about things these days so perhaps it all balances out in the end. I come from a somewhat chaotic past and have found my way to psychology as an ex-se...
