Re: IAPT low intensity phone work
Hi Stargazer, Although I am leaving the world of PWP'ing I do work for a service that is nearly all phone work. As to the effectiveness the answer is "it depends". If you have a client that really wants F2F and you can't offer it then it can be frustrating. However I have carried out some ...

Re: Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditati
Thank you LIWY for your considered and thoughtful reply. I know that there are courses out there that are not acreditted. However the letter also said we would not get our PG Cert from the Uni either until after the recovery plan has been actioned. I know that I will not be funding anything ! As for...

Re: Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditati
Peach, I have sent you a PM. Baa, thanks for the Feedback. The very annoying thing is that CCU had received accredation for the 2 previous years of the course and if you go on the BPS website it is still shown as acreditted !!! The Uni have advised that the problem appears to be with the Module 2 ro...

Re: Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditati
Thanks for your support. We will keep you posted with how things go through the week. I am hoping that as the BPS pulled the accreditation on the 16.8.11 (took a month for us to be told :x ) that they have the design of the recovery plan under way. However, this could just be wishful thinking on my ...

Re: Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditati
I have been crying  This has hit me like a steam train. I have already e-mailed the head of Applied Psychology and one of the lecturers to find out what happened. I have also e-mailed my Services Operation's Manager asking her to confirm that is O.K. for me to continue Client work. We have had ...

Re: Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditati
Thanks Ruthie for your kind words. I am sure I am carrying out every unhelpful thinking style in the Book :) Will take your advice and start ringing around on Monday. At least with my training I know what I am doing to making myself upset and angry ! Have also sent an e-mail to the BPS asking for a ...

Re: Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditati
No, is that something that we as students can get access too? I am a BPS member. Just got a letter from the South East Coast SHA. Affects about 50 people that where on the course. A lot of people were making complaints through the year but they were all brushed aside. We were told back in May that t...

Need to rant about CCU - PWP course lost its accreditation
Hi All, Got a letter today saying that Canterbury Christchurch, where I have just completed my PGCert, has had its accreditation removed by the BPS and IAPT and a recovery programme will have to be put in place to ensure that we are competent. I am not a very happy bunny to say the least. Has anyone...

Re: Therapy affected by targets and pressures
HI, I will complete my training as a PWP on 30th September this year. Also I will be leaving on the same day due to these issues. I have been given an Exit form to fill-in where I will raise these issues once an again. During training I went into formal writing about my concerns however the culture ...

PWP's being asked to do Step 3 work.
Hi all, I work in a Step 2 only service in the third sector with the Step 3 service being provided by the NHS. We also work as a "single point of access" so we have to assess everyone that the G.Ps send regardless of thier difficulties so can mean assessing very risky and Step 4 clients. A...

Re: BPS Launch IAPT Register
Hi Will,
I would take that to mean that you can. I am reading the website as saying that all PGCerts upto and including the intake that started in Sep/Oct 2009 are O.K. to apply. If the course is still runing at that Uni it is not accredited at the moment. Think that makes sense.
Cheers
