Re: UEA 2012
so how does UEA work exactly? You all seem to be based all over the place...the university is in Norwich isn't it? I was always a little put off as I am not keen on Norwich itself (sorry, do not mean to offend - just some bad experiences there) but it sounds like one could easily not live in Norwic...

Re: BPS membership
I am not a member of the BPS. However, I have noted a couple of jobs being advertised on NHS jobs recently that specified that you had to be a member of the BPS. This specification was written on the preapplication questions page. One post, I put down "no" and was not able to apply. Howeve...

Re: Inpatient work
Ruthie, Just from my own experiences of working on a forensic inpatient setting, some practicalities may be good to sort out. Our unit tried to involve HCAs in therapy groups, however there were frequent times when the HCA was not released off the ward to facilitate. If HCAs carried out certain task...

Re: unsuccessful applications experiences?
RobinWall - is that a general all-emcompassing list that you have observed in others, or things that have specifically held *you* back? Some are my own experiences. But have tried to generalise a little. Didn't add my general "entitlement beliefs" as holding me back! For example "why...

These were just some of my own experiences and observations. There are no right or wrong answers. However...

RobinWall - is that a general all-emcompassing list that you have observed in others, or things that have specifically held *you* back? Either way, it's an interesting list, full of things that we might be unable to see or unwilling to admit in ourselves, possibly leading to us preferring to presen...

Re: unsuccessful applications experiences?
Although I have not been successful yet, I can think of, from both observations, and a few experiences which may hinder progress. Not sure whether it is relevant:- Lack of maturity - (not in age - but as a personal attribute) Not accepting feedback readily Unwilling to "take on the service user...
