surviving targets

I am resurrecting this thread as I am wondering how people are finding targets now? Does workload change or vary? I try to keep in touch with any others I know around the area, and I hear of a target changing to 35 face to face GSH sessions on top of 4 hours assessment work for some. I wonder if the...

Poll: EU In or Out?

I do agree with your thoughts. I avoid all of those papers because they represent mindlessness to me. I also don't believe the EU was our friend on enough important matters either. Your points are fair, and my vote was based on the fact that when its a situation of hobsons choices, then go with the ...

Poll: EU In or Out?

I've never seen this forum become so politically voiced, so I'm wary not to get into a debate where I might feel the debate becomes a justification for or defence of my vote. I generally avoid political debate where I can for this reason. But thanks Spatch for highlighting that not all who voted Lea...

Presentation without slides??

I think if they are asking for a presentation then a presentation is what should be provided. There are a lot of ways to use a presentation to positively emphasise the points you want to get across without it feeling distanced, dull or distracting though. I have often thought of presentations as a '...

5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. I'm seconding Astra on never knowing what to wear anymore! 2. Working on my work-life balance has done wonders recently. I'm enjoying my evenings again, and at the moment I'm cuddling the smallest of my new flock of baby chickens. 3. I have finally managed the energy and motivation to start worki...

Teeth clenching causing jaw pain and headaches

I have some personal experience of this myself - as pixie mentioned there are protective dental shields for bruxism at night; and during the day I found placing my tongue between my teeth made me much more aware of it! There are also facial exercises as bruxism caused jaw spasm as well. These practi...

NHS England - funding

I am not in the know myself, but I was made aware of the HEE Review of Clinical and Educational Psychology Training Arrangements (March 2016), which mentions continuing to review training costs. I don't think anything is decided but clearly the training is being looked at. Sent from my iPhone using ...

Trainee Transfer??

I have no experience of this myself so this is all supposition - I would imagine it would depend on whether the job offer trust also trains their staff with the same university and LI course - in which case I can't see why that would be an issue (you'd be on the same course with the same uni just em...

Re: The 0 Club

I have a lot of time for the 0 Club. A place where the alcohol flows freely, the faces are always friendly and the music hauntingly melancholic. Having comforted many an assistant/HCA/psych grad at it's heavily grilled front door, I almost feel I could take a job as bartender. So leave your coat, a...

Re: The 0 Club

Here's another member of the Zero Club! This club is a great way of normalising the numbers of people in our position, which has helped me in the initial wave of disappointment. I think this forum is also building up a group of members who represent the portion of people who repeatedly apply (and sl...

Lancaster GMA tests 2016

Yeah that was so challenging it was really quite unpleasant! If numerical reasoning is essential to the doctorate and my performance doesn't make the grade - then that's absolutely fine with me! I don't want to struggle like that on the course, I'd be a wreck!

Lancaster GMA tests 2016

Can I just ask - what log in details are we to use? I've clicked the link and tried to log in with the only log in details I ever use and nothing is happening... Did the link ask for a log in for others who completed the test?
