Re: Support for disabled/dyslexic trainees
Hi Pixdustchaos, I'm a first year trainee and I have dyslexia. I applied to salomons although this is not where i am training and they seem to be very considerate. I would encourage you to apply through DSA for your dyslexia and i expect also for your physical disabilities also. You are entitled to ...

Re: Disabled Students Allowance & Clinical psychology doctor
Hi, I just wanted to share the outcome of my DSA applicaiton (Non NHS one). It has been accepted. I personally would say this is the better route as this gives you the equipment that you need which is then yours. my understanding of the NHS one is any equipment you need is put onto NHS computers and...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2015
SO SO SO pleased to update my progress! This will have been my 4th year applying (although my first two were definitely way too early and I was nowhere near ready), and this was the first year I was offered interviews. Herts Trent UEA ----> UEA Leicester (5th reserve) and after over 2 months of hor...

Re: Disabled Students Allowance & Clinical psychology doctor
I've done some more looking into things, and i'm not sure we are eligable for the NHS DSA as we are not one of the listed professions: http://www.yourdsa.com/dsa/eligibility-nhs/
I'm going to apply through the normal DSA this weekend (hopefully) and see what they say.

Re: Disabled Students Allowance & Clinical psychology doctor
This was last year pinkaliengoo? I think I'm just going to do that. My firmed did non NHS one and said it was fine. I think if they reject it I'll know pretty quick and I'll just have to pay for the software I need. (I don't even mind paying for a computer - not that I'll tell them that) it's more t...

Re: Staffs 2015
Maybe I was talking to Dakota!!?
Sorry Alex, I get so used to using ppls user name. I'll try catch myself in future.
I hope once all the places are accepted we start getting some more info so it sinks in a bit more, I'm so impatient. I want everything now!

Re: Disabled Students Allowance & Clinical psychology doctor
Ok, so I've just spoken to a friend of mine who has used this system three years ago. We both have dyslexia, so what I am saying is only in relation to this I do not know about other reasons for using the schemes. She says the NHS one isn't great. Apparently what they do is buy you the equipment but...

I think I've got my head around it - going to sit down at the weekend to get it into a send off-able state as I want everything in place before I start. Also I wanted to bump incase people weren't awa...
