Unfortunately more and more RA jobs are coming through requiring a PhD which is definitely frustrating, and in a lot of cases even if this isn't a requirement of the job spec it is often a characteristic of the applicant pool... I think it would be worth making contact with local university departme...

Headspace app

Hi clinpsyers! Been a while since I've been on here - things have been a bit of a roller coaster for me and haven't really been keeping up with stuff. I noticed that my stress and anxiety was mounting up so I decided to get back into mindfulness practice (something that has ironically had a permanen...

Hi Greg,

I do have access to this but won't be able to send it to you until I get to the office tomorrow. If you pm me in the morning with your email address I'll happily send it over :-)

Hi clinpsyers, Bit of a long shot as it's not a hugely common/psychological journal, but wondering if anyone has access to the article below? It's for inclusion in my second systematic review. Tse et al. (2015). Teletherapy Delivery of Caregiver Behavior Training for Children with Attention-Deficit ...

There are two very quick screening tools that I know of - the learning disability screening questionnaire (LDSQ) and the child and adolescent intellectual disability screening questionnaire (CAIDS-Q). I've heard good things about the LDSQ, though haven't used it myself, and am looking into the CAIDS...

Hi clinpsyers, I have another article request... seems that I need so many articles that my library can't access at the moment! If anyone has this I would be eternally grateful as it's needed for training. Lord, C., Rutter, M., Goode, S., Heemsbergen, J., Jordan, H., Mawhood, L., & Schopler, E. (198...

Hi lovely clinspyers! I would be eternally grateful if anyone has access to this article!! It relates to a measure that I'd like to use in my PhD - I have the measure but really want to read the article for it as well. Thank you! :) srlb2 xxx Reimers, T. M., Wacker, D. P., & Cooper, L. J. This is a really interesting question. I've heard this used a lot and I'm not sure I'm too concerned about it in most cases. For example, if someone has a psychologically relevant phd should they have to train in a specific specialism to earn the title psychologist if they intend to work in research...

Hi kellymarie, I would agree with lingua_franca that additional needs would be better than special needs, although I don't think either would be frowned upon as such as they are both used in the UK. If you wanted some more specific terminology - learning disability is often used in the UK for an int...

Done - I found this very interesting! Sleep hygiene is something that has always interested me. Just a small note - in the survey details you say you're looking for participants who are university students aged 18-25 - if this is the case it might be useful to edit your initial post to reflect this ...

Hi curadh, I read your previous post about the incident at work and I really feel for you - it sounds like a horrible situation to have experienced. Re: Data collection problem. Need help?

Hi Steliana, I'm aware you may have found a solution to this by now so please ignore this post if so! My suggestion is very basic and may be something you have already considered, but I wondered whether it would be possible just to screenshot the results and print/save them? At least then you would ...

Thank you all for your replies! It's good to hear that others are in a similar situation and at different career stages. I think that knowing this helps to normalise it a bit, as you often only see people who seem to be very together and calm about everything (ie fixed term contracts, instability et...
