Re: Reserve list for places 2019

Congrats those who have received offers. I’m slowly getting there, and found out this morning I’m on the reserve for the IoPPN, which I am delighted with as it’s the best I’ve done and I was a reserve for interview too. I would really appreciate hearing if anyone knows of any movement over the next ...

Re: What to do next!

Hi, I don't really have any advice but just wanted to say i'm in a similar situation so I know how frustrating it is. I'm in a situation where I can't afford to take the pay cut of a full-time AP post, and can't relocate from London unless it's to East Anglia, so i'm severely limited. Not sure what ...

Re: UEA Interview Reserve List

Well done, that in itself is a good achievement, I was there myself last year! Last year they told me what place I was on the notification email (I was 11th). I'm not sure how many people are on the reserve list, however I can tell you for sure that it only moved 1 place last year. I submitted an FO...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

Oh god. I'm praying that either they haven't called all on the list yet, or that they tried to get me when I was on the tube around that time, as I haven't heard anything.

Re: Reserve List Updates Thread

Wondered in anyone knew about the status of the RHUL reserve list? A friend of mine is a reserve and would be great to give her some positive news!

Re: I have social anxiety - could I be a clinical psychologi

And yeah, I know lived experience is such a valuable thing. I just can't help but feel like it's slightly different for social anxiety though. I feel like if I ever admitted it to someone in the workplace or an employer or anything they wouldn't view it in a positive light since good people skills ...

Re: I have social anxiety - could I be a clinical psychologi

I can relate to this. I used to suffer from really bad social anxiety. I got a research post after finishing my MSc, and although recruiting and assessing patients at first terrified me (especially being observed!), I learnt that as my knowledge and confidence in my area grew, so did my confidence i...

Re: What to do next...

Hi, Just in case anyone is interested I thought i'd say what is going on. I just interviewed this morning for a Research Therapist position doing CRT in psychosis. I think the interview went well, but I am much less excited about the position now I've spoken to the PI. Although I would get plenty of...

Re: What to do next...

Thank you all for your input. I have decided to apply for the longer fixed-term jobs (all are advertised very short notice in our school, so the turnaround is very quick). Also going to have a meeting with HoD to explore if there are any upcoming posts. Have considered enrolling for a PhD part time ...

Re: What to do next...

Thank Bluecat for your take on my situation. I agree that's it's not a good idea to count the chicks too soon. So taking both options is also an option, that I hadn't thought of considering. The benefit of our short term jobs is that they do not require an interview, so it would be switching straigh...

What to do next...

My current contract is finishing mid-June and there is no opportunity for extension due to funding. Late May I have a DClin interview, and although I know my chances aren't great, I'm not giving up. So I need something to do with myself until mid Sept at the earliest (assuming I do get a place). And...
