Online survey: Clinical Psychologist participants required!

I'm a second year trainee on the Trent doctorate and I am currently looking to recruit qualified Clinical Psychologists to complete an online survey as part of my DClinPsy research project. The survey may take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The title of my project is: Do Clinical Psychologist...

Re: Assistant Neuropsychologist Lincoln

I am moving to Lincoln to start training (moving this weekend actually!) I don't know the area that well yet myself, but thought I'd say hello! From looking around I'd say north of Lincoln uni seems nicer. Congrats on the job offer :)

Re: Transparency on Clearing House

I had a similar issue with applying to Birmingham. I was unsure about whether my 2:1 would meet their criteria (65%+) because I didn't know in which way they calculated the 65% (e.g. was it only third year taken into account?), but checked this beforehand with the course and even sent a letter from ...

Re: Reserve list for places

So unbelievably I have just received an email notifying me someone has declined their place at Trent! So far along in the process and long after the deadline I wasn't expecting this at all, I was originally 9th on the reserve so it just shows you never know and not to give up! That's amazing news w...

Re: Which doctorates don't have a stats exam to get in

I attending 3 screening tests this year and only one made reference to SPSS/stats, but still, it wasn't anything a bit of reading up couldn't prepare you for. They seem to be more based on research methods.

Re: Do you even lift?

I really got into lifting when I had personal training regularly last year. Unfortunately I stopped my sessions due to expense, and haven't continued with it at the same level as when I had the guidance and support of a PT. I still lift now I'm going to the gym solo, but I worry a bit about increasi...

I would always wear black trousers, or 'smart' jeans and just a loose-fitting top/jumper, canvas shoes. nothing revealing, always trousers.

Re: Trent 2015

I wondered if any current/past trainees were able to give any info on how the weeks are usually structured? e.g. after teaching block is it typically placement mon-wed, uni thurs, study fri (as an example) or does it change depending on years? thanks!

Re: Clinical Support worker job

I currently work in a hospital with low/medium secure wards. I think the security aspect can be a bit daunting when it is completely new and unfamiliar. It is likely that there will be elements of risk involved with the job, however you should receive plenty of training and support to help you cope ...

Re: Reflection on clinical work

This has prompted me to want to start a journal :) Yes! I loved writing a journal when I was a teenager, and I love writing when I'm travelling. I have been off the radar for the last few weeks due to the DCLinPsy interview and now I feel I could do with treating myself to a nice new notebook for m...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2015

SO SO SO pleased to update my progress! This will have been my 4th year applying (although my first two were definitely way too early and I was nowhere near ready), and this was the first year I was offered interviews. Herts Trent UEA ----> UEA Leicester (5th reserve) and after over 2 months of hor...

It is a shame he didn't come across very well and offered advice that was not useful... Congrats on getting the job though!
