Hello all,

Does anyone have access to:

Clinical Psychology Forum (No 59, September 1993)?

and/or

Clinical Psychology Forum (No 54, 1993)? It has an article by Melanie Ward, Therapy As Abuse on page 23 to 25.

Thanks :-)

Re: Alternative Executive Function Tasks

Hi Mexie, That is very helpful, thanks a bunch! Although it is a case of streamlining measures being used in order to manage the time participants are required to spend within the study as well as there being financial/funding limitations. It is an (experimental) study that aims to assess the relati...

Alternative Executive Function Tasks

Hey people, Before giving up (and accepting the use of bespoke/self-made cognitive tests for my research project) I decided to see if anyone knew of any alternatives to sub-tests within large (and 'costly') batteries for testing specific cognitive functions. The cognitive abilities (or more specific...

Re: Full Time Masters and Full Time Job

As was previously mentioned by an earlier poster the feasibility very much depends on your personality. During the most part, I worked between 2 to 3 days a week as an AP during my masters. After exams, with only the dissertation to focus on I began to work full-time. It will be difficult to give yo...

Re: 'Survivor guilt'

I think it's definitely a common things. I've also noticed the impact getting on training has on pre-training friendships that I think contributes to this where friends with initially similar aspirations drift apart when one gets on training. Part of this I think is just the circumstances around po...

I don't think there is much interest in your postgraduate transcripts providing your first degree is BPS accredited. Although I may be wrong as my MSc was incomplete at the point of applications.

Re: Is a support worker job a MUST?

Basic answer: No, but it does help. I know a few people who snapped up AP posts straight from graduation (but they had other relevant experiences). No - I don't think you should work as a support worker right now if this will be a barrier to you travelling. As you suggested, you could do support wor...

Re: Public Speaking

I was in a similar situation - I felt I was a decent public speaker until I started working within MDT's. This is something I have thought about in depth and feel as though it stemmed from a belief that I was not 'good' enough to contribute much to discussions (as everyone was more qualified than my...
