How have people heard from Southampton? Email or letter? I haven't heard anything from them!

Just waiting for Southampton now. I feel strangely relieved instead of disappointed - will have to ask myself why that is when I'm less tired.

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016
I haven't heard from any of mine yet (Oxford, Southampton, Birmingham and Royal Holloway). I'm very glad I've been extremely busy on a training course at work doing more hours than usual. Add that to mobiles being banned in work, and obsessing has been limited. I am longing to know now though.

Re: Are AP posts the be all and end all?
Thank you for your reply Mark, it's very reassuring to hear. I think on one level I knew already what the answer was, I was just failing to manage some negative thoughts I've got going on. I've had a look through the alternative handbook and have realised that whilst I've been obsessing over the Oxf...

Are AP posts the be all and end all?
I've applied for the doctorate for the first time this year, I haven't heard back yet from any of my choices, but I was browsing the Oxford doctoral course's web page and noticed they have profiles up for their current trainees. Almost all the trainees have had multiple years working as assistant ps...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016
I know it's irrational, but I'm frustrated that Oxford responses aren't out yet. I have been so tense for the past 3 days waiting for them! I guess that's the downside of trying to predict the unpredictable. I agree with you! I've been exactly the same... PB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Same ...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016
I didn't realise the dates for the Oxford interviews had changed.
Suddenly it seems unlikely that they'll tell us today or tomorrow then..

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016
That's quite funny moony - maybe you can give me tips on how to stop stressing. I'm in a similar boat, I was convinced Oxford would let people know today, for some reason, and am getting increasingly frustrated at the silence

Re: Birmingham Written Exercise 2016
I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that we don't get specific feedback, we'll just find out if we have been shortlisted or not by the main deadline.

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016
This is my first time applying. I barely thought about it until I took the Birmingham written test which made it all seem real! Now I'm obsessing about it, probably to avoid dissertation anxiety for my masters.
I've applied to:
Birmingham
Oxford
Royal Holloway
Southampton

Actually from looking at your posts I don't think you are who I thought lol. Ignore me
Sorry you got laughed at though. I have two little kids so am stuck with hunting for part time posts too.

You can enquire about job shares too for full time roles. I've had success doing that once but didn't get the job on interview, sadly. Is your username your surname btw? Think I might know you, possibly.

Re: News report: Care for those who self-harm needs improvin
Hi Hannah. I used to work as a SW in a women's unit and regularly had to take women to A&E following self harm. I would say that the attitude of staff ranged from empathic to downright hostile. I do appreciate, however, that for overworked hospital staff, dealing with distressed patients who would ...

Re: Long waiting times to hear result of interview
I still haven't heard! I phoned HR and they said they do not chase up panels and all the other candidates are in the same position as me. Apparently I will definitely be informed, but they cannot put a timescale on it. Waaah!
