Re: Deciding to withdraw from the process

I think your view is very limited some people invest a lot of time, energy and money into developing before even getting on the doctorate with no guarantee that they ever will and this can involve huge personal sacrifices including relationships, moving for jobs, waiting to have kids, buying a hous...

Re: Verbal and numerical reasoning tests

I've been trying to get on all afternoon - no luck.

I did get an error message at one point saying there was a problem with the server. That was only after I left the page trying to load for about 40 minutes or so.

Still not getting in now.

Re: agression/violence towards CP's especially when training

I'm really pleased I found this thread. I was wanting to mention my experiences as I've been thinking a lot about them recently. My first 'proper' job after completing my initial undergrad degree was on a male acute assessment ward in a medium secure unit. I'm probably quite an anxious person anyway...

Re: Reflections on 4th application and not on training

I have just spent 30 minutes reading through the whole of this post. I just wanted to say how inspirational everyone is on here. It's great to hear everyone's stories. This is such a tough process and I find it really helpful to read about how other people are managing and coping, along with underst...

Re: Lancaster GMA tests 2016

I don't think i have ever found a test as difficult as that numerical reasoning one. I'm not someone that particularly struggles with tests usually, and I know that this is supposed to be hard, but I don't remember a time in my life where I have felt like I don't even know where to start, what the q...

Assistant psychologist post....but concerned about low wage

Hi there I've just been offered an assistant psychologist post at the place I currently work (a substance misuse service). My only concern is that the job is paying £6,000 less than my current wage as a Recovery Worker. I currently have a BSc Psychology and Criminology (2:1), an MSc Forensic Psychol...

Re: Supervision as an assistant psychologist

I'm not an assistant psychologist, but I work as a substance misuse practitioner and have monthly supervision. I have had supervision in previous jobs (secure unit) and didn't really understand it or make the best use of it. Now I think supervision is one of my favourites parts of the month. I use i...

Participants required for research on Domestic Violence

Hi there, My name is Hannah and I am looking for participants to complete my MSc Forensic Psychology dissertation research. The study is looking at attitudes towards domestic violence and I am looking for a range of participants. At the moment I particularly need male participants as I've collected ...
