Re: Reciprocity ring

I don't have those connections. My only thought and I'm sure you've thought about it but I wonder if there would be help in terms of funding from somewhere like the national lottery or comic relief or something along those lines.

Re: Applying for 2015

I've looked at it and gone ahhh a few times!

I'm not going to submit mine for a while as I need to increase my experience (months) and that stops when application is submitted.

Re: Give and take on the forum

I am like some of the others I guess. Whilst I'm applying for the first time I have never worked as an AP so read the posts but have nothing huge to contribute. My expertise and background is service user involvement and being a service user and I will try and post on those threads etc but some of t...

Re: Applying for 2015

I'm going to apply to UEL, Royal holloway, Surrey and the last one I'm not sure about as I live in west London and think that Salomans is probably to far a commute. How about Hertfordshire? My third choice will be a toss up between Hertfordshire, Oxford and Salomans Difficulty is Hertfordshire requ...

Re: Applying for 2015

Im in a similar dilemma as i live in London currently and don't really want to leave but don't have the grades for IOP or UCL so need to think further afield but not sure where or how that would work etc. You might want to look at UEL, Surrey and Salomons? UEL seem to value reflection over high gra...

Re: References

Thanks I think I will go for my undergrad dissertation tutor than.

Am I right in thinking that the reference request goes out when you submit the form not before?

Re: Applying for 2015

I've registered on the clearing house! Has the personal statement question changed? The reason I ask is that it asks about how your work and research experience makes you a suitable candidate for training but I guess in the past it seemed like in the past this was a broader question as it seemed peo...

Sounds good to me!

I don't have a request to start with but I'm happy with the group being public.

Re: Terminology

What to call a 'patient' is really difficult! I hate the term service user and would much rather be a client or even a patient but I know some people who really like the term service user so if you can maybe be led by the person you work with. That said I think sometimes the setting you work in wil...

Hello So I have a question on references specifically the academic one! I completed my degree in 2006 and my dissertation supervisor hadn't completed her doctorate so is mrs bloggs. I don't know if she will remember me particularly well. I did have another tutor who I was close to who was a dr and d...

Re: Terminology

I'm a peer support worker and we spent quite a long time discussing language during training and general conversation in part as often we used 'bad language' when referring to ourselves e.g. Crazy or loony bin etc. I will still use those word to describe me as I find it easier but would never use it...
