Re: Manchester Screening Assessment

I thought I just did! Manchester mean GMA as per the tests used at Lancaster. In previous years this has been verbal and numerical subtests.

Re: Should I apply??

Miriam is right, I don't think you can overestimate the value of doing screening tasks (if relevant) and going to an interview at somewhere you want a place regardless of if you don't get one immediately.

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment

I think you'll find that's an accidental misuse of the acronym GMAT and they mean GMA.

Re: Numerical reasoning tests - calculator?

You can use calculators for these tests. I assume you used a calculator when you did them for the screening! They are not a test of your ability to do mathematics, they are a test of how you conceptualise the information and understand how to transform it. You can take notes on how to do mathematics...

Re: Rejected from interview due to references. Thoughts...?

Just to be clear, referees do not have to consent for you to be given a copy of a reference they have provided. You are legally able to request this and they are obliged to provide it if they hold it.

Re: Rejected from interview due to references. Thoughts...?

Courses have the right to use facutal information on references to make decisions on applications. You have a legal right (enforcable via legal action) for information provided about you to be factual and accurate just as you have the right to obtain a copy of information held by programmes about yo...

Re: Scrambled Eggs

We would not be worried about a trainee living in the EU at the point of application. We've taken EU citizens onto the programme previously direct from their home country and interview several each year. We also regularly choose trainees with no NHS experience over those with that experience because...

Re: Exeter selection tests

Hi there, None of the screening invitations from the testing system have been sent out - they will go on Monday morning. Plymouth have sent out a pre-testing email letting people know to expect that email invitation from SHL. If you haven't had an invitation on Monday, drop me an email and I can che...

Re: Experience/Application Advice

To reiterate all my posts on the subject, the expectations of different courses in terms of access to 'experience' vary hugely and start at none at all. People do not need clinical experience, postgraduate training, published papers, or experience in research to get a place on a DClinPsy. I'd look ...
