Re: Patient panel interviews

In a young people's substance misuse service I used to work in, we always had a separate 'young people's panel', (which was usually made up partly of ex service-users and partly of other young people who accessed the youth service) and a 'professionals panel' (manager, senior practitioner, youth wor...

Re: Why don't more people apply for private sector AP posts?

Hmmm. I was working as an AP in the NHS years ago and was offered a post with a private organisation which I then decided not to take. For me at the time it was a mixture of wanting experience with a different client group, broadening my skills beyond AP (as I wasn't sure I'd be applying for DClinPs...

Re: Forensic Psychology - Experience

Hi there! [NB: Original post had huge over-use of the word 'interesting' - I have now edited it but for the benefit of posterity have put in bold the words that had previously been 'interesting'!!] Great to have a master plan! I think you'll probably find quite a few suitable voluntary possibilities...

1.) - 5.) Anxiety turned to stress, disappointment and despondency. Trying very hard to get myself out of this funk and think positively about everything I've achieved and been through but it's hard. Hoping sleeping on it will help :( Sorry to hear that- yes hopefully a good night's sleep will brin...

Re: Trainee PWP role and pregnancy and how enjoyable is the

Hi Chip! I don't have any experience of PWP but can empathise about the children/jobs/life balance! I somehow find myself in my mid-30's (ugh!) having had some dim distance AP and related experience but then wandering off into the wilderness (metaphorically and somewhat physically!) for a few years ...

Re: Which Course to choose for my career goal?

You may have a lot of experience with people from the military but if not then Blind veterans UK often have a lot of volunteering opportunities: http://www.blindveterans.org.uk/how-you-can-help/volunteer/ I've heard that their courses/support services are excellent and really focus on emotional and ...

Re: Blank clinical reference form

Thanks, that would have made a lot of sense for me to check first. I think they are old forms. It's all good though, gives them something to work with. On a side note. Just seen the academic reference for the first time and that is brutal! For all of those who had fleeting engagement with an underg...

Re: Blank clinical reference form

Hi there!

I don't have one but I did a search for 'reference' on the Clearing House website and it came up with a couple of sample ones in PDF format-don't know if these are the most recent ones? Hope that helps!

Re: Plans for the year ahead

Thank you Amina - that's really helpful! And is that the same form that all of the universities use? Or do some have additional or different questions? Thanks again :D Hi there!! You just submit the one application to the Clearing House and then they release it to your 4 university choices - have a...

Re: Daily Mirror report on unpaid Assistant Psychologist rol

Yes it's an interesting article and nice to see this brought up in more mainstream media. I think it's hard for students fresh out of uni and others of us who are not far along the path who can get drawn in to the desperation of trying to secure AP role and who therefore will jump at the chance of e...
