Re: How many years after graduation before you got on the co

I graduated 8 years ago, but spent the first couple of years working in an un-related field whilst volunteering, and then another couple of years working in a relevant field but considering Social Work. Then 3 1/2 years ago I was lucky enough to get a position working with a CP and realised I was mu...

Re: How many times did you apply?

I applied twice, but I waited until I felt ready (I graduated from my undergrad 8 years ago). 1: 3 outright no's, 1 interview from a selection test. 2: 1 outright no, 1 invitation to selection test which didn't result in an interview, and 2 interviews from selection tests. For me, I felt ready to ap...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

Second year applying (though I waited until I felt ready - I'll be 29 when I start training). 2015: South Wales Trent Plymouth Lancaster >> Lancaster 2016: South Wales Staffordshire Plymouth >> Plymouth Lancaster >> Lancaster Really pleased but it doesn't feel real at the moment! I enjoyed the inter...

Re: Lancaster 2016

Thank you for the lovely message Rob, and the fantastic support from the course staff & current trainees on the day. I'm really excited to be starting at Lancaster in September (and currently trying to convince myself that I didn't dream the phone call!). Would be great to chat to anyone else who'll...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

Thank you for sharing purpledot. A few years back when I was first using the forum you didn't really have many people posting unless they'd been successful and I think it gave a skewed view of how many people were getting on and personally it made me feel rubbish! I find this a much more supportive...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

Have deliberated over posting results so far as I feel quite disappointed that my nerves got the better of me in my first interview this year and I froze mid-way through a question... South Wales Staffordshire Plymouth >> Plymouth Lancaster Congrats to the successful Plymouth applicants :) It seemed...

Re: Has anyone heard anything from Clearing House yet?

I've been invited to both Lancaster & Plymouth, can I just confirm that there will be two separate links to take the test twice (once for each institution)?

Re: Chosen to do psychology but still have doubts

Just to add quickly, that if you're planning on doing a joint honours degree, don't forget to check if your course still gives you GBC (Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with BPS) as not all joint honours offer this, and you would need GBC if you wanted to persue further training in Psychology...

Re: Pending release to course centre

I submitted mine the night before the deadline and it's also pending, but I remember reading on the site that they get so many through in the couple of days before the deadline that it's nothing to worry about :) best of luck with your application!

Article Request: Parenting after Bereavement

Hi all, Please does anyone have access to either of the following articles: Glazer, H. & Clark, M. (1997). Parenting classes as a part of a hospice bereavement program. The Hospice Journal, 12(3), 33-40. Sandler, I. et al (2003). The family bereavement program: efficacy evaluation of a theory-based ...

Re: Plans for the year ahead

Hi Geishawife, Thank you for your reply, and please accept my apologies for not being clearer. I think perhaps my question is coming from a place of anxiety, which is why I struggled to articulate it and I'm a little embarrassed for asking what I think may be an irrational question  I'm aware ...
