Billing for Time

Hi all, I'm hoping to source some advice from the community regarding billing for time. I'm working with a psychiatrist part-time, however, there is no fixed amount of time I'm to work with him per day or per week. My payment is dependent on work available threw out the day- I'm primarily involved i...

Re: What is the view on online/distance learning masters?

I'd honestly consider going the QMUL route, I think I paid just under 7k for my MSc. I was in your position about two years ago and was seriously considering the KCL MSc, however, you rightly point out the exorbitant cost. The lectures and teachings on the course were brilliant, and I felt that the ...

Re: International Student--Personal statement advice?

Hi Tashi,

Unfortunately, due to the differences in both the program and mental health system, I don't think this forum will be of much help to you.

I think you'll probably find plenty of other US-based forums out there.

Re: Any interest in an applications webinar?

I'm not sure that six is enough to make it viable, and I've been very busy with other commitments, so I don't want to over commit. But I am prepared to review applications as I have done in previous years, in return for a donation to a charity of my choice. I'm hoping I can find an online way for p...

Re: Dissertation in Applications

Short answer, no. I can say with some certainty that it's highly unlikely anybody from admissions will request a copy of your dissertation.

Re: Neuropsychology/Research

Hey, I'd recommend taking a look at the Alternative Handbook. You can see how each course varies in terms of its focus. https://www1.bps.org.uk/system/files/user-files/Division%20of%20Clinical%20Psychology/public/Alt%20Hand%202018%20v6.pdf Off of the top of my head, back when I had more of an intere...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. My partner's father passed away 3 days after my check-in. It's been tough supporting someone who's going through such grief. Poor girl. 2. My job has picked up. I managed to drop one of the clinics I've been at, which had an incredibly poisonous dynamic. Now I'm working more individually with cli...

Re: Grade classification for application

Hi, This is something I have tirelessly tried to gather information on. Long story short, it's different between institutions. My degree was 4 years long; some universities calculated years 2, 3, and 4, some only looked at the final year, some looked at years 2 and 4, etc. Best advice is to contact ...

Re: Research Exam Help

Hey! Sorry to hear you're feeling anxious about this. Solomons, as I'm sure you know have plenty of past practice examinations for you to take a look at. You might also revisit some of the texts you covered within the first and second years of university on research and stats- interpreting results, ...

Re: Online Selection Tests

So there's no online-pre selection test? I remember in the past it was an online pre-selection AND another pre-selection test on the day of the interview. They trialled that (I can't remember if it was last year or the year before?) but it wasn't a helpful approach, so it returned to just a test on...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. Got a distinction in my MSc, which I managed to execute whilst holding a full-time job. Whilst also trying to give myself a pat on the back and take a step and recognise that I have accomplished some thing, I can't help but have this niggling fatalistic voice in the back of my head telling me it ...

Online Selection Tests

Happy Wednesday, all! I've searched the forum and have been unable to find a thread on this; please forgive if there has already been a discussion. It's going to be difficult for me to get back to the UK for selection tests, so I was wondering if anyone had put together a list of courses which have ...

Re: Assistant Psychologist - UK or abroad?

Hi, I'm a Clinical Research Coordinator working on a study that looks at cognitive remediation within the context of first-episode psychosis. The role of an assistant psychologist doesn't really exist out here, so a CRC position is probably the closest you're going to get- I'm primarly involved with...
