Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1-5) I'm having to pack everything up and leave this flat today. One week before I was ready to. I had one evening to pack my stuff. The first flat/bed I've joint-rented with a partner. Seeing him and thinking about it still hurts just as much as when we first broke up two weeks ago. Also the fire a...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

Thank you both. I've had an even longer-term break-up before so I know it's possible to heal, but this situation is much more complicated since I can't get the space I had when I got over the first relationship. Also I still love this guy whereas for the last one we weren't as close by the end.

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1-5. My partner and I broke up two days ago because he doesn't love me any more. Everything hurts and I now have to find somewhere else to live. All our friends are the same so I have to see him all the time. I cried non-stop at work on Friday and I've had to leave a voice message telling them I'm n...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

Yay for number 4! I've had a couple of pole lessons since moving and I'm really loving it, and (considering I hadn't done pole in a few years, certainly not regularly) I'm surprised at how little I've lot - I can still do Ayesha and Straight Edge, though it took a few goes to find the balancing poi...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. First day off today from my new job--definitely need a lazy day, I've been so busy lately. 2. I'm also sleeping so badly at the moment. Normally my sleep is great but I keep having nightmares and waking up in the night... yuck. 3. I have today off because I worked on Saturday to quit my youth wor...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. I need to quit my part-time youth worker job since I haven't worked before Christmas and my full-time job is so demanding. I've been putting off the conversation with my boss though because I've been there for 3 years and I love my colleagues. 2. I also don't want to arrange a leaving do as I'm s...

Re: Putting together a book proposal...feedback wanted!

This sounds really useful to me :) It sounds like a really useful book to prepare people for the environment and different issues we may face. Will there also be proposed solutions to these issues too? Predictions of the future/other changes that may be upcoming etc.?

Re: Current GMHW Training?

Thank you for your reply LIWY. Apologies for the delayed response, I've been finding my feet in the service more in order to now be able to answer my own question in case others have the same query later down the line. I've been in this post for a month now :) You are right in that there is no much ...

Re: Things you've learned at work today

Today I learned (thanks to my manager) that when triaging clients, I should save the risk assessment until after they've told me their main difficulties and a rapport has been built up, even if I do identify risk at the beginning of the session. On further reflection, it may also help to do the risk...

What Miriam and Geishawife said - well done! Of course it's important that services are as good as possible for the safety and wellbeing of staff and service users, so it's great that you've been so proactive and reflective, despite it being a challenging thing to stand up and do. I hope things get ...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

5. Wonder what advice I'd give my 6 years ago self if I could go back? Maybe to do EMDR training sooner, maybe start doing private work sooner, or maybe just to do exactly as I did and it would turn out ok? Man, that's such an important sentiment to have! I'm going to try and remember that one. 1. ...
